Each day moved past slowly, but as Adora reviewed the weeks it felt like a blur. Already she was midway through the term and buried by everlasting homework, tests and assignments. At least she could rely on P.E to be a constant breeze. No homework, no tests, just fun, really. And her fitness levels were almost at its peak. Adora found her daily runs becoming easier, and she'd even watched a few videos on how to use weights. She hadn't actually built the confidence to actually use them, but at least she'd done some research.
"Adora, you need to download Instagram, or Snapchat, or something."
Adora looked at her phone while they walked towards the gymnasium. Shadow Weaver herself had promoted Adora becoming active on social media. And Shadow Weaver hated anything that could possibly lead to a distraction from her studies.
"I don't even know what I would post. I'll just be one of those blank stalker profiles."
Glimmer grabbed Adora's phone from her hands, and the taller girl yelled in protest. Adora tried to reach for it, but Glimmer was done within minutes. Bow stood in the centre, trying to separate the girls as some sort of peacemaker. Everyone stared as the small group squabbled past them, but no one decided to comment.
"And, done!"
Glimmer tossed the phone back to Adora, who caught it greedily.
"I'll just delete it, you know."
Glimmer huffed and stomped her feet on the ground.
"Please, just keep it. You don't even have to use it."
Adora knew that was a lie. Glimmer would probably send her updates every week or something to check Instagram. But then again, Adora herself was obsessed with the app. Every so often she'd nag Glimmer to look through fitness and study hacks on Glimmer's phone, doing an occasional stalk of everyone's accounts.
"Fine. I'll keep it."
"Yay!"
Glimmer hugged her from the side and Adora squeezed back, taking a selfie of the three of them to set as her profile photo. She quickly changed her username from @glimmersbitch to @adoragray.
Glimmer grabbed the phone again, Adora peering over her shoulder. She was going through Glimmer's own following list, requesting and following their classmates. Maybe Shadow Weaver would be appeased now, she was getting frustrated that Adora wasn't "promoting her identity across the market." Apparently all past presidents were well known in the media before they earned the title.
They walked in the gym, finding Mermista and Mr Hawk already setting up as more students filtered in. Adora was ready to shrug her jumper off, when she realized they had...a portable whiteboard? Not only were those things practically archaic, but it was phys ed, what did they even need it for? Unless they were learning a new game with complicated positions or something. Adora's interest piqued at the thought, soccer and basketball were her favorites, but she'd be open to something new.
"Morning Mermista!"
Adora pulled them to take a seat in the front row. Last time Glimmer took them to the back, and Adora couldn't see or hear any of the rules. She acted like an idiot for the entire game, it was horrible. If they needed a literal whiteboard for this one, Adora had to be in the front.
"Don't talk to me."
Mermista's words sounded venomous, but she couldn't be disliked.
"Someone's grumpy this morning."
The dark brown eyes narrowed in on them, and Mr Hawk quickly squeezed her shoulders from behind.
"Excuse my love, she's a bit cranky. Didn't get her beauty sleep."
