It took time, for Papyrus to get used to this. Sans was always so lazy so seeing him doing things, or helping others do things was... strange. He knew Sans was originally born as the leader of the Skeletons, Papyrus knew that... but seeing it in action was downright strange. "alright, i've got some time before i'm needed again. let me show you around!" Sans chirped as he came back from helping a child find her lost stuffy. That was another thing Papyrus wasn't used to. "LEAD THE WAY, BROTHER." Sans was genuinely excited. He seemed so in his element here compared to in the Underground. He was comfortable with his surroundings. "alright so that is the bedrooms, pretty much everyone has their own room but the young who share rooms until they are old enough to not have to be watched 24/7. over there is the smithy were we make anything and everything metal. we got the main hall over there, the storage unit, kitchen, and library of sorts." Sans pointed out every location. "then there's the nursery where the infants are kept, that's where i found you." It was hard for Papyrus to believe that he was looking at where it all began.

"Tine Sans! Brushy is due!" Sans took a moment to process before he dragged Papyrus into the Nursery and dodged past cribs, giving the small Skeletons waves as he did so. The went to the back where Brushy was settled with a babybones. She was tired, but they both were healthy and she looked happy. Of course she would be, her last tie to Danzig had been born. "wanna meet him..?" Sans whispered to Papyrus. Papyrus nodded slowly. Sans knocked to let Brushy know he was there before the boys headed in. "he is gorgeous, eha, you have done well." Sans praised. Brushy smiled at him and the stranger behind him as they came in. "Thank you my Tine and uha. I know he will grow big and strong. Who is he?" She gestured to Papyrus. Sans chuckled. "remember the skeleton i saved? papyrus?"
"That is him?" Brushy inquired. Sans nodded. "He is so tall! You did well with him!" Brushy praised. Sans chuckled and flushed with embarrassment. "i did my best..."
"Tine." Sans sighed as he looked over. It seemed he was needed again. He rubbed the little Skeletons head. "welcome to the clan, little one."⚜️⚜️⚜️
Papyrus was left with the purple haired Skeleton as Sans went to do something to help the Clan. It was awkward since they couldn't communicate. Papyrus wasn't sure what to do. Nor did Amiri. Luckily, Fright did as the blaster came to check up on both the Skeletons. "NYEH! IT'S YOU!"
"Fright." Papyrus looked to the other Skeleton as the companion lowered her skull to be pet. "Sans blaster." She could speak his language- "BLASTER?" Papyrus asked. "animal like subspecies of skeleton. i have twenty-four blasters in all, fright here is just my oldest and most loyal." Sans had come back now. "they used to be abundant when we were little." Sans explained as rubbed her humerus. "she brought you here."
"You should take him and see if there are some left. It's been years since anyone tamed one, they are much too rare these days..." Amiri suggested. Sans hummed, looking at Amiri. "i know where a pack of them are." Amiri's sockets widened. "Really...?" Sans nodded as he turned to his brother. "wanna go blaster taming?"
"BLASTER WHATING?" Papyrus asked in confusion. "blaster taming. do you want your own blaster?"⚜️⚜️⚜️
Sans led Amiri and Papyrus out of the encampment. "ok so to tame a blaster, you need to sync wills with it. it's instinctive, you'll know what to do when the time comes. first we have to find one and wear it down. i'll have fright help you since you've never done this before." Sans was explaining to Papyrus as he stumbled over a root. "... Maybe we should wait. He seems rather... clumsy." Amiri noted. "if we could do this as kids, i'm sure he can do it, he's the great papyrus." Sans had confidence in his bro. "He never grew up around here-"
"your concern is appreciated, but seriously. i know my bro. he's got this."
"WHAT ARE YOU TWO EVEN SAYING?!" Papyrus questioned, confused. "I thought she knew common?"
"she only knows a little common bro, remember that wingdings wasn't in her life very long." Papyrus nodded. Sans looked Papyrus in the eyelights. "you've got this bro, i know you do." Sans assured before peeking over the ledge and to the small pack Sans had accidentally located a few weeks prior. "choose one and be ready to run."⚜️⚜️⚜️
That's how Papyrus came to be fleeing from the large, animal like beast. "HOW IN STARS NAME DID THEY LET YOU DO THIS AS A CHILD?!?" Papyrus screamed though he wasn't sure where Sans or Amiri was at the moment. He was too busy running for his life. The blaster tried to snap its jaws at Papyrus but it was quickly tackled away by Fright. "come on, face him head on, i know you can do it..." Sans whispered to himself from where he and Amiri watched on the ridge. Papyrus wasn't sure what Sans meant by 'it was instinctive', Papyrus had no idea what to do. He couldn't keep doing nothing though! He would run out of energy eventually. Papyrus pivoted to face the blaster. Anything could be good if they just tried. Papyrus just had to lead it down the right path. "that's it, you got this."
"HALT!" The blaster skidded to a stop, confused and uneasy. What was he doing. "I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, AM HERE TO HELP YOU." Papyrus approached it slowly. It tried to back away, but Fright blocked it. Papyrus reached his hand out, brushing his gloves along its muzzle. "SEE? YOU ARE OK! GOOD GIRL!"
"he's a boy, actually."
"GOOD BO- WAIT, WHERE WERE YOU!?"
