The deal had been simple. Sans went back with the clan, and they would let the monsters and Papyrus go. Sans knew that Papyrus never felt at home with the clan, and why would he? Sans never taught him a thing about it. He grew up with monster traditions, not clan traditions. It made sense that he would go back rather than having to learn a whole different culture. Sans would miss him, but this was the card he was dealt. He was a Tine. Amiri took his hand as they left the monsters early that morning, heading to the location of Allhalla. Sans was at least happy to have her at his side. They snuck away on foot before getting on their companions and continuing on as they had originally planned to do. The only difference in the plan now was that Sans wasn't leaving Allhalla again. Eventually, they had caught up with the skeletons who had kidnapped the monsters and used them for ransom. Sans didn't let go of Amiri's hand as they joined in traveling home, which sent whispers through the small group quickly. Whispers of Amiri being his Riryoo and whispers of a new heir to keep his bloodline going.

When Papyrus and the others woke, they weren't expecting Sans and Amiri to be gone. "That little-" Undyne had half a mind to go after them for leaving them in the middle of the night, but Specter was quick to block her path, growling. "We Need To See Sans! He Needs To Come Home!" Papyrus tried to go around her while Undyne was blocked, but Specter was the fastest in the back and quickly stopped him too. Alphys drew up a conclusion rather quickly, seeing as the animal was trying to keep them away. "Sans is g-going home, Papyrus... A-Allhalla is his h-home..." Papyrus and Undyne both turned to the lizard monster. "H-He Wouldn't Leave Me... Would He..?" Papyrus whispered. "H-He may n-not have h-had a ch-choice..." Alphys replied softly. "Meaning?" Undyne crossed her arms. "Th-that he m-may have h-had to make a d-deal to release u-us... R-remember, according t-to their customs, S-Sans is the o-only one that c-can lead them..." Alphys went to comfort a depressed Papyrus, knowing that they had never been apart before this Allhalla business.

Specter led the monsters along, back to the civilization that Sans had been made to leave. The three knew that the journey back was going to be far away. The Skeleton Home town was stupidly far away, and Undyne grumbled about it - a lot. If only she knew. They hadn't even gotten halfway there. They would never know. Papyrus decided that he did not like Allhalla. He didn't like that he and Sans were separated once more. He didn't like that he had to live so far away with next to no possibility of being able to visit him. His sleep was fitful without his brother, and the journey back seemed much too quiet. Frisk rode atop the blaster of Sans' not liking how this timeline was turning out. Hell, they'd almost died. If only they could reset. Alphys stayed quiet most of the long journey back. Her thoughts were on the skeleton brothers who grew up completely different. It showed. Sans was born to Allhalla, and even without his memories, that had still seemed to show. His personality and habits hadn't really been the same as others, Papyrus included, that she knew. As much as she hated to say it, she believed Sans made the right choice.

Sans' mind wasn't with Amiri or the others, but rather on the war, and more importantly, on the oldest tale in the archives. The birth of Allhalla. It was Tine Fraktur, his oldest known ancestor, who had separated the skeletons from the rest of monster civilization, and it was for good reason. It was the war that had turned that crack into a canyon, making building a bridge between monsters, humans, and skeletons all the worse. The prophecy in both monster and skeleton history both told of an angel who would liberate them. For the monsters, it was Frisk... at least, that's the idea. Sans didn't believe it. No, the angel had to be known by humans and skeletons otherwise the skeletons wouldn't be liberated. That left Papyrus, Grillby, Amiri, and himself. Grillby was unlikely. He wasn't one to break a promise. He would never come, no matter how badly he wanted to. It was possible Amiri could be the angel, being half skeleton and half fire elemental. A literal bridge. She didn't know monsters, though, and Papyrus didn't know skeletons. Sans wasn't sure he liked his conclusion.

They made it to Allhalla late in the evening about three weeks later. They all parted with murmurs of Goodnight, and Sans went to his room - the Tine's quarters to sleep. He was exhausted, and yet his mind was too fast for him to sleep. His thoughts were on the idea of him being the supposed angel. The skeleton with one foot in Allhalla and one foot in the monster kingdom. He was the most likely bridge between them. Was it up to him to bring the skeletons back to the monsters or was he thinking too hard on this? There was a knock on his door, breaking him out of his thoughts. He went to answer to see it was Amiri. "May I rest with you tonight..?" Sans stepped to the room, happy for someone to distract him from his thoughts. Amiri came in and looked around. "Thank you..." Sans nodded and went to the closet to get stuff to make up Amiri's bed. "anything for my eha." She went over to help and within five or so minutes, a cot was made for her. "Goodnight, my Tine, sleep well." She smiled at him and he smiled back. "goodnight, amiri, sleep well." With Amiri in the room, his thoughts seemed to vanish, at least for the night.
