Amiri and Papyrus really didn't know how to survive the wild. That became obvious quickly. Papyrus had lived Underground where everything was given to him. While Amiri was a little more experienced, having lived in Allhalla were Skeletons pretty much lived like the Amish, she still had four walls that kept her and the clan safe from outside threats and a roof over her head during turbulent weather. Sans was a soldier though. He'd survived much worse than a journey back to civilization. It only took him an hour tops to construct a shelter, fire, and get something for them to eat. Actually the hunting Fright did, but still. Leaving Pap and Amiri alone left for an awkward situation, seeing as they couldn't understand each other. Papyrus certainly tried to talk to her, but... "I, uh, do you have a thing for my brother?" Papyrus asked. Amiri tilted her head, confused. "Nyeh... Do you." He pointed to her. "Like." He made a heart with his phalanges. "My brother?" He pointed to the busy Sans. "Do I... love Sans..? He is my uha, of course I do." She nodded her head. "NYEH! I KNEW IT! NYEH HEH HEH!"

"Where did you learn to do all this?" Sans glanced at Amiri while Papyrus shot him another weird look. Ok then? "the war. survival was a huge part of the war. most of the time we sheltered in nearby towns, but sometimes... sometimes we didn't have that luxury. we had to learn real quick to throw up a temporary camp and take it down just as quickly. make it look like we were never there." Amiri nodded slowly as Papyrus looked curious and a little mischievous. "What are you talking about?"
"the war. you ok bro, you're being a bit... weird." Papyrus looked taken aback. "I'm not being weird, I'm being great and normal! Completely, utterly myself!" Sans rolled his eyelights. "right. sure." He mused. "well, this coyote isn't going to eat itself." He took his portion and signed to Amiri. "he thinks we are courting, doesn't he?" Amiri giggled quietly. "Yes, I think so anyway." Sans chuckled. "that's hilarious. would it be mean of us to make him continue thinking that?" Amiri smirked. "Maaaybe a little. I'm still game."
"DON'T THINK I DON'T SEE YOU SIGNING IN WINGDINGS OVER THERE-" Sans snorted. "sorry bro."

They were up and moving early the next day. They still had plenty of ground to cover. Sans was happy to have Amiri with. It reminded Sans of one very important fact. "oh damn, how's grillby gonna take this?" Papyrus looked at Sans. "Nyeh?"
"Amiri is Grillby and Wingdings daughter. So Grillby would recognize her, right?"
"Grillby's name was on the machine too. I don't know if he even remembers having a child with a Skeleton." Sans eyelights went downcast. "... maybe he would... i should still tell amiri." Papyrus didn't agree or disagree, he just shipped~. "eha." Sans called to Amiri. She had her blaster catch up with Fright's, she turned to her Tine. "What do you want, my love~" She teased. Sans rolled his eyelights, a faint making their way into his cheekbones. "this is serious, you're other parent is still alive and i know him." Her joking demeanor vanished. "W-what...?" Sans nodded slowly. "the monster that carried your soul is a fire elemental named grillby. he's a bartender these days, it just occurred to me that you'd be meeting him there..." Sans explained. Amiri wasn't sure what to say so she stayed quiet as she mulled it over.

Sans led them on, checking their direction. Papyrus and Amiri looked worse for wear, no doubt be did too. It's been nearly a month, of course they did. They were finally at the edge of the forest though. The city was about twenty miles on the horizon. "up for an all-nighter bro?"
"If it means finally getting to sleep in my bed? Yes." Sans chuckled. "what about you, amiri, up for an all-nighter?" She nodded. "Let's get you to your home, Tine." She seriously needed to stop calling him that. He... he gave up... that title... He tapped Fright, letting her know that they were gonna continue forward. Once more she led them forward, Amiri and Pap's blasters following behind her. Before long, the blasters were running towards the city, following the road, the first of civilization Sans and Papyrus had seen in... well... forever. Papyrus was ecstatic to be so close. Amiri was nervous. Sans... he was just going to keep moving forward. They were nearly to the city. They were nearly... at the monster's shared home. It would take some time... to call it home again. He tried not to dwell on those thoughts.

Sans showed them how to inventory their blasters before taking a shortcut inside. Papyrus went straight to his room, mumbling tired goodnights despite it being nearly five in the morning. Sans had planned on sleeping on the couch and letting Amiri have his bed but they were both out the moment they touched the bed. It had been quite the month, few months really, it was no wonder they were so unbelievably tired. Sans wasn't ready to face tomorrow though...
