Sans had a hard time getting back into the swing of things. His mind felt crowded with thoughts of his brother and thoughts of his duties as the "angel." Amiri noticed, and she helped to pick up the slack. Having met the others, she knew this had to be worse than the last time, when he still had Papyrus here, at least. So they divided and concured as Tine and Eha(?). "Amiri?" The thoughtful skeleton turned to Brushy, who must've been so busy at the Nursery since her son was born. "Yeah? What's up, Eha?" Brushy glanced around before leaning in. "Are you with the Tine? Are you his... Riryoo?" Amiri wasn't sure how to respond to the question. There was certainly something between them, something unnamed. Amiri shook her head. "No, not as far as I'm aware, anyway." She responded honestly. "Aw, you totally should be- not only are you a cute couple, but he needs you!" Amiri was about to ask what that was supposed to mean, but Brushy was already explaining. "Everyone knows that the Tine is going through something rough... You are the closest to him, though... you're the only one who can reach him..."

Sans went through some of the old birch bark scrolls from the oldest days of Allhalla. Tine Fraktur's scrolls. Funny how they all revered him as a practical God, but next to nothing was actually known about him. Only his deeds as the first Tine. It sucked because Sans really needed the advice right now. Something to lead him in the right direction. "I thought I would find you in here." Sans looked up at Amiri tiredly. "i thought... i..." Amiri shook her head and came to softly take the scroll from him. See what he was looking at. "Uha... sometimes the past cannot give you the answers. Sometimes, you are looking in the wrong place if you do look to the past. You miss your brother and I understand that, but if you are going to bridge skeletons back into monster society and human society, you need to do it your way... not your ancestors way." Amiri handed the scroll back. Sans blinked at her and smiled. Some way or another, she managed to make him feel better. "thanks, amiri... i am glad to have you..." He kissed her cheek on his way out.

It came back to him when he was maintaining Retribution. It could be just as it was before, during the war days. The letters. He could give Asgore his coordinates. As long as he didn't use his real name, they wouldn't come looking. Hopefully.

Dear King Asgore,

How long has it been since you have heard from me? I have been a busy man since last we spoke. As I am sure you are aware, the skeletons are still around, their civilization is still here. I am with them, but they fear the humans, after the war and they are still uneasy about monsters. I will do what I can on my end, but I need your help too. The skeletons need to know they are safe with the humans and the monsters. Can you help me bridge a lost civilization back?

Your loyal friend,

The Judge

With the letter written, Sans sent it out via Specter. She remembered Asgore almost as well as Fright did, she would get it there and bring Asgore's letter back. He had wanted to mention Papyrus, but he knew the others would come back then. It had to be between him and Asgore... for now.

It took time, before he heard back again. He had been in the middle of a meeting and had to wait until it was over to read the concerns that Asgore no doubt had. He had thought to read it to the elders, but ultimately decided to wait until he was certain that everything was resolved and the other side was willing.

My Judge,

I have not heard from you in so long! I feared you passed on! I never suspected you to be a skeleton... which means I think I know who you are. I can try to speak to the humans, but there are issues. What about the language barrier? And your culture? I'm sure your skeleton clan will not want to lose all those years. Your brother misses you.

Your pal,

King Asgore

Sans hummed thoughtfully. Those were the exact concerns that he had thought of himself, but he wouldn't abandon his own culture like that. This wasn't an assimilation. The Allhallan tongue could become an officially recognized language. They could still hold their practices... his practices. They would only be intermingling with other people with different practices. Sans wrote as such to Asgore, also asking that Papyrus not know of this yet.

Sans gathered all of the clan to hear the next letter. This was it. The moment when they learned his intentions.

"to the allhallan skeletons,

i am asgore, king of the monsters. i want to formally introduce you. i have sent this letter to tell you that i have recognized your species back into my kingdom. i have met your tine, i have met others of your clan. i am working here among the humans to give you safe passage into their government, only if you desire.

i hope you accept this invitation,

king asgore."

Sans closed up the letter and tucked it away in his robes and addressed his people. "i have decided to take his invitation. this is a choice every one of you can make yourselves. i am not abandoning my duties for accepting it, i only think that we could benefit from a positive relationship with the humans and monsters. the king thinks the same. we can continue to live as we always have, just with more access to the world around us." Sans explained. "to make this work though, we will have to learn their language and teach them ours. for those who want to move on from our fear, i will be teaching english tomorrow in the great hall." Sans then walked away, closing up the meeting.
