He took her hand and took a shortcut to Grillby's Bar and Grill. This was it. The moment she had been waiting for. Sans was excited for her and sad that she would be leaving after this. It was for the best, though. He knew it. Grillby was in the back, so he invited her to sit with him at the bar while they waited. "your old man here helped me through a lot of crap. and i mean a lot. i couldn't even begin to explain all the stuff he heard me spout on those terrible days in the underground. all that happened and all the more that was happening..." Sans shook his head and smiled at a concerned Amiri. "things are better, though, at least for now. things are good now." She smiled. "Is it because of me~?" She teased, to which Sans felt a blush rise in his cheeks again. "you have no idea how happy i am that you're here, amiri..." The conversation probably would've continued if a glass hadn't shattered, gaining their attention. Grillby stared at them, and the glass plate of food he'd been carrying laid broken on the floor. "A-Amiri..?"

Amiri got up slowly. This was her father. The one she had never met yet... she felt that she did know him. Perhaps because he had been the one to carry her soul? "Hello... father..." She greeted in sign, unsure if he knew their tongue or not. He looked even more stunned before he ubruptly and briskly walked around the counter to hold her. "Y-you're alive... Y-you're here..! You're all grown up, and I'm so happy!" He tucked his head into her shoulder. She softly held him back, glancing at Sans, who had this huge grin on his face. Amiri tucked her head into her Fire Elemental father. She still had a father... "My baby girl... Sans... thank you..." Sans nodded his head. "of course, bud..." Grillby pulled away softly. "I have to clean that up... please, please go ahead and go to the back - we will talk there. I will answer any questions you may have." Grillby quickly dismissed himself, and Sans got up to lead Amiri to the back. "This is really happening..." Amiri murmured as she followed. "yep. you're finally here." Sans held the door open for her as she went through.

They sat on the couch as they waited. It didn't take long for Grillby to show up. "Look at you... I haven't seen you since you were a baby bones..." Grillby immediately went to hug her again. He was excited to see her after so long. After years of having no memory of her, only to have to grieve for the loss of both his mate and his daughter... it was a relief to see one of them alive. "I- what would you like to know, Amiri?" She looked at Sans, then to her father figure. "How did you meet my skeleton father? The clan had been separated from monsters for years?" Grillby chuckled. "Well, not all skeletons were in your clan. Wingdings was raised by a tiger... and we'd met by chance in a store I was working at." Amiri grew curious of his meaning. Asked more about the tiger and the town. About her father's work in the scientific field and about the language that all three of them knew. They talked a little about Grillby's own life and the hardships he faced and how, in many ways, Wingdings had saved him with his perseverance and determination. How good a monster he had been.

Sans slipped away as the two talked about the past. It was getting late. They needed to eat, and someone needed to see how the bar was doing. Sure, Grillby had workers now, but still. It was better to be safe than sorry. Once he tended to the bars' needs, he made a few quesadillas for the three of them and gave them their plates. "Thank you, Sans."
"Thank you, my Tine." Sans wanted to argue against her calling him that, but they had quickly moved on with their conversation. It seemed she was now telling Grillby about how the remains of the clan hid far from Allhalla for 70 years before slowly trickling back to rebuild the place they'd called home. She spoke of how Seema Spectra had held things together until the day Sans had returned... and how he was going to be leaving her and Brushy in charge of the clan so he could live here with Papyrus. Grillby looked at Sans, who averted his gaze. "Amiri... I understand your sorrows, but you are doing the right thing, giving Sans the choice on going home or staying with the one hed raised..." It didn't make Sans feel better that Grillby sided with him...

Eventually a new topic of conversation sparked up. "How did you meet Sans?" Amiri decided to ask. Sans chuckled before Grillby could even come up with a response. "i worked under him in the royal army. he was my general. wingdings also introduced us, so there is that. not to mention his bar was the best place the underground has ever seen-" Grillby rubbed his flames at the high praise. "Ah yes, I should have figured!" Amiri laughed softly. "I had a lot of help, getting where I am today." Grillby responded as he stood. "Please excuse me, but I should probably close up. Will you be staying?" Sans and Amiri looked at each other. "It is late... I can start home tomorrow..." She decided to tell Sans. He smiled as she repeated herself in wingdings to Grillby. Grillby smiled happily and went to close. "you can take the bedroom, i'll have the couch." She shook her head. "You have the bedroom."
"you need good rest for your journey." Sans pointed out. Amiri paused. "I will miss you..." Sans sighed. "i'll miss you too..."
