Sans yawned as he went to join the clean up crew in picking up after last night's entertainment. He knew how much Papyrus liked things neat and tidy, so he was surprised not to see his brother helping out. He supposed... he couldn't postpone the conversation any longer. His first priority would be to track Papyrus and talk to him. "i'll be back, i got something important to do." He desperately wanted to stay with Papyrus, his brother, his hope during the darkest of times. But if Papyrus wanted to leave... Sans would have to figure out a new system for them. Not just anyone could take the title of Tine, they had to be descended from Fraktur, a Skeleton boss monster. Perhaps a democracy or or a dictatorship of some sort? Sans didn't really wanna think about it until after he talked with Papyrus. So he tracked down his little brother's soul signature with ease having known it since he was just a babybones. He was with his blaster, and seemingly on a rant. It reminded Sans of the many times he'd went to Fright to blow off steam, both on the surface and Underground.

"I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, CHAMPION! I DON'T BELONG HERE! THIS ISN'T MY HOME OR MY PEOPLE! I MISS MY FRIENDS! BUT... I can't leave without Sans, I need him... he's all I've ever had for a family..." Papyrus stopped pacing the grass in front of Champion and sat himself down in a cross-legged position. Sans... kinda expected this... staying here with his clan and bro.... it was wishful thinking on his part... maybe be could move back and forth- no... Allhalla is much to far away, it is too long a journey... the clan would never accept monsters that weren't Skeletons to live here, let alone visit... Sans took a deep breath before putting on a smile. "hey bro, whatcha doing?" Papyrus looked up at Sans and perked up immediately, making Sans smile just a little more genuine. "I WAS TALKING TO CHAMPION! IT'S AMAZING HOW WELL THESE CREATURES LISTEN, UNLIKE A CERTAIN LAZYBONES I KNOW!" Papyrus nagged playfully. Sans held his hands up in surrender. "believe it or not, i've gotten better at listening. Sans sat down beside Papyrus. "it's kinda one of my duties as tine... so... what's eating you really?"

Sans listened quietly as Papyrus was honest with him about how he felt here. He felt he didn't fit in, he didn't like how different Skeleton traditions were to monster traditions, he couldn't get a grasp on the language, and most of all, he missed everyone he'd grown up with. He was homesick. Sans knew the feeling all too well. He'd been homesick for Allhalla before the suppressed memory thing. And it had come right back after he regained said memories. "... we will go home as soon as we can, but i need to figure out how the clan will function without me." For Papyrus he would do anything to make him happy. "They functioned without you before though?" Papyrus asked in confusion. "they still had something of a leader system, elder spectral was no tine, but she'd raised many generations of tine's so she had enough experience to keep the clan functioning until my return. now we have to change their way of living so i can go with you." Papyrus nodded in slight understanding. "I just have to be patient a little longer?"
"you just have to be patient a little longer." Sans replied as he stood up.⚜️⚜️⚜️
Sans combed through a young girl's hair as he tried to think of a proper way to break his leaving to the clan. He wanted to stay. He wanted to be the Tine of his clan. To stay with his family, but it wasn't about him. "Thank You Tine Sans!" He smiled and waved as she ran off. He wasn't upset with Papyrus, not in the least. He should've known fate would continue to screw him over. Honestly, he was surprised Frisk hadn't reset yet. He had to remember. Even before Papyrus didn't want to stay, this was gonna be temporary. Heh. That was ok, as long as Papyrus was happy. That's all that ever mattered, ever since he'd found Pap in the scorched nursery, on that day those hundred plus years ago. As long as Papyrus was safe and happy... he could figure something out. Maybe Amiri could council him when she wasn't busy. Sans stood up to busy himself with yet another task while he waited, coming up with lines to say as he did so. If only he knew how to say it so the clan would understand his point of view without fear...

Papyrus was excited! He could finally go home with Sans! He could go home and get tackled by Undyne and tell them all about Allhalla and the Skeletons and show off Champion to them all and possibly visit another time since Sans liked it here and was raised here. Papyrus hoped that Sans would continue to be as busy back at home as he had been here, helping around and actually getting his tasks done... it was like his brother completely three-sixtied from the Sans Papyrus had always known. He like the Sans this place brought out. The one that was happy. Papyrus had always thought Sans was happy, but that 'smile' compared to the smile this place had brought out, he hoped to see that more at home now too. First though, he had to let Sans tell the clan and fix the skewed government system so they could go.
