Chapter 4

Just let me die! His voice echoed in my head. I frown as I stare at the ceiling. Why did he want to die? Did something bad happened to him in the past? Why'd he sounded so upset and what was that thing around him? It looks like a forcefield. Was he just like me?

Y/N P.O.V

There's no school today, so Nii-Chan asked me to come with him to his office. He told me he don't want me to be by myself. I just agree, because I too don't wanna be alone.

Nii-Chan pulls up to his office's parking lot. He turn to look at me and smiles softly. "Come on..." he said. I just nod my head and exits the car. I just quietly follows him as he makes his way towards a lift.

I lean my back against the lift's wall as we wait to reach the level. I have my hands held together in front of me. I just stay silent as I stare at my feet.

A ding can be heard from the lift, making me look up. The lift door opens to reveal a huge room. My eyes widened in awe as I take a look around. I hear a soft chuckle behind me. I turn around to see Nii-Chan staring at me with an amused smile.

"Do you like the office?" He asked, ruffling my hair softly. I just pout because he just made my hair all tangled up. "Stop it, Nii-Chan!" I said, swatting his hand away. He let out a chuckle and walks towards his chair.

"Don't be a stranger, Y/N. Have a seat... the others should be here soon" he said. I just walk towards a couch and take a seat. I notice there are books on the table and reaches out to grab one.

"Ah ah... that's not for a teen like you" Nii-Chan said, stopping me from trying to read it. I just pout at him and place the book back on the table. I crossed my arms across my chest.

"Oh, I almost forgot, Y/N..." Nii-Chan said. I turn to look at him. He gestures me to come closer. I just do as told. He places something on the table and push it towards me.

"What is this?" I asked. He smiles softly at me. "I got you a phone... because you didn't have one" he said. I furrowed my eyebrow at what he said, staring at him with a confused expression.

"Why would I need a phone?" I asked. He let out a sigh and crossed his arms, while leaning against the backrest. "It's important for people to have a phone. It'll help them get help at times needed" he said. I just nod my head.

"Open it..." he said. I just nod my head at what he said. I open the box to see the phone. I smile at the shape. It looks pretty and unique.

"Do you like it?" He asked. I turn to look at him and nod my head. "Thank you, Nii-Chan..." I said. He just smiles at me. I hear the lift making a 'ding' sound. I turn my head to see it open to reveal a guy with a wheelchair.

"Ah, Ryou..." Nii-Chan said, as the guy make his way further into the office. He notices me and turns to look at me. "Is this a new client?" He asked. Nii-Chan turns to look at me and shakes his head.

"Nope... she's my sister" he said. I notice Ryou's eyes widened at what Nii-Chan said. "You have a sister??" He said, almost yelling it out. Nii-Chan just laughs at what he said.

"Not biologically... remember the girl I told you? The one I saved from the gangsters" he said. Ryou nods his head at what he asked. Nii-Chan smiles and point his thumb at me. "That's her..." he said. Ryou turns to look at me.

"Oh... well, it's nice to meet you. My name is Ryou Inoue..." he said, offering a handshake. I just shake his hand. "Kogoro Y/N..." I said. He smiles at me. I pull my hand away from his.

The lift opens again, this time revealing a familiar face. "Hanasaki" I said. He grins when he notices me. "Ah, L/N. You're here!" He said. He walks over to me and take a seat next to me.

"You two know each other?" Ryou asked. I turn to look at him, as did Hanasaki. "She's a new student in my class. Of course I know her" he said. Ryou just nods his head at what Hanasaki said.

"Hanasaki... I have a mission for you" Nii-Chan said. Hanasaki turns to look at him. "What mission?" He asked. Nii-Chan grabs a file and place it on the table. Hanasaki walks over to the table and grab the file.

"A lost dog? I need to find it?" He said, turning his head to look at Nii-Chan. Nii-Chan nods his head. Hanasaki just nods his head. "Can she come with me?" He asked, pointing at me with his thumb. Nii-Chan turns to look at me.

"Well, only if she wants to" he said. Hanasaki turns to look at me. "Come with me, Y/N!" He said. I just stare at him for a bit. He gives me a pleading gaze. I let out a sigh and nod my head, making him grin at me. He grabs my hand and pulls me along with him. I let out a yelp at his sudden move.

"Take care of her!! If something happen to her, you will face me!" Nii-Chan yelled out. Hanasaki let out a laugh at what he said. "You can count on me, Sensei" he yelled back. I just stay silent as Hanasaki keeps on pulling me along.

I turn my head to look at the road. "Isn't that the dog we're suppose to find?" I said, pointing at the dog. Hanasaki turns to look at where I'm pointing at. His eyes widened.

"You're right! Come on!" He said. He starts chasing after the dog. "Hey! You're only going to scare the dog away!" I yelled at him. I let out a sigh when he didn't listen to me.

We eventually reached an abandoned building, since the dog runs inside. We make our way inside. I look around the place, trying to see if I can spot the dog. I hear barking sound and turn my head to see the dog is barking at something. I turn to look at where the dog is looking at, to see the same boy from the other day.

The dog keeps on barking at the boy. "Leave!" He yelled. Hanasaki lifts both of his hand to show that he means no harm. "I will leave after I get that dog, okay?" He said. The dog rushes towards the boy. The boy's eyes went wide of horror.

"Stay away!!" He yelled. The dog jumps on him. A forcefield appears around him. My eyes widened in horror when the dog gets killed because of the force.

The boy's eyes starts to glisten with tears. "I told you to stay away. I did nothing wrong!!" He yelled. I can see the pain in his eyes as he said it. Without another words, he stands up and jumps out of the window.

"Hey!!" Hanasaki yelled out. He rushes forward and take a look out the window. I walk forward calmly, because I know the boy's going to be okay. I see the boy running away.

"Seriously?" Hanasaki said. I lean my body against the window. "It's just like before..." I said, in a soft voice."Wait... you've seen him before?" Hanasaki asked. I turn to look at him and nod my head. I turn to look at the boy who's still running. What's with him? And who is he?
