Chapter 31

Previously on Chapter 30

He places himself next to me. I scoot closer to his side, allowing him to place his head on my chest. He closes his eyes and drifted off to sleep. I smile and kisses the side of his head. I close my eyes, slowly drifting off to sleep.

-Recovery-

Y/N P.O.V

After I wake up, I've been showing significant progress. So I've been move to the treatment room, and I won't have to be attach to a machine anymore because of my recovery rate. But the Doctor said that I need to stay in the hospital for a few more days, just to make sure I'm stable enough before getting discharged from the hospital.

Yoshio is sitting next to me on the hospital bed. My head is resting on his shoulder, as he gently holds my hand on his lap. He draws random shapes on the back of my hand with his free hand.

"You really scared me..." he said, after a while of silence. I pull away to look at him. He turn to look at me. I can see the sadness reflecting in his eyes. He lift his hand, gently cupping the side of my cheek. He gently caress my cheek with his thumb. "When Hanasaki told me your condition, and when I actually saw you with my own eyes. I was so scared. I thought that you'd never wake up. Please don't do that to me, Y/N. I can't lose you... I don't want to" he said.

I lean my forehead against his. "I'm a fast healer, Yoshio. I might have exhaust my power. But once I feel better. The healing process will fasten. I'm not going to die. Not that easily..." I said. He pulls away to place a soft kiss on my forehead.

"I know... you said that a lot. But I'm still scared. Y/N... I can't imagine my life without you. And I'm stuck in this world because of this stupid power I have... and you're the only one who can come this close to me. You're the only one who can hold me... and I don't wanna lose that feeling" he said.

"You won't..." I said. He pulls his forehead away from me. He stares into my eyes, as if trying to search for some reassurance. I cup his cheeks softly as I smile at him. "I assure you, Yoshio. You won't lose me..." I said. He just pulls me into a hug.

The sound of knocking makes the two of us pulls away. I turn to look at the door. "Come in..." I said, softly. The door move open to reveal the nurse that is in-charged to take care of me.

"It's time for your lunch, Ms. Kogoro..." she said. I just nod my head. I'm not surprised she called me Kogoro. Nii-Chan have officially adopted me as his sister. So it only makes sense if my name has become Kogoro Y/N.

"Thank you, Nurse..." I said. She smiles softly at me. She walks towards the desk, placing the tray there. She turns her head to look at me.

"Please press the bell once you're done and I'll bring your medicine" she said. I smile softly, nodding my head again. She bows at me and turns around to leave the room. I feel Yoshio moves, making me turn to look at him. He walks towards the desk and grabs the plate.

He walks back towards me. I lift my hand to take the plate from him, only for him to smack my hand away. I stare at him in confusion. He smiles softly at me and take a seat on the edge of the bed, facing me.

"Let me feed you..." he said. I blink my eyes in surprise at what he said. He scoops up some of the food with the spoon. He turn to me and gently bring the spoon closer to my lips.

"I can feed myself..." I said. It's not because I don't want him to. It's because I feel a little shy. He pouted at what I said, lowering the spoon a little. I let out a sigh at the face he's making. I open my mouth, making his eyes lit up. He gently feed me the food. I can feel my cheeks getting a lot warmer. It's pretty obvious that they're turning red.

Yoshio tilt his head as he observe the expression I make. He let out a soft chuckle as he poke my cheek with his free hand. "You're embarrassed, aren't you?" He said, with a teasing tone. I grab his hand and pulls it away from my cheek.

"Stop teasing..." I said. He let out a chuckle and shakes his head. He continue to feed me. I just take every bite he gives silently, trying to control the heat on my cheeks. No one ever did this for me. So to experience this for the first time is both nice and awkward for me.

"You know you don't have to be embarrassed. I'm your boyfriend, Y/N. It's my job to look after you" he said. He places his free hand on top of mine. He grab my hand and gently place a soft kiss on the back of my hand. His gentle gesture brought a smile to my face.

After a few more bites, I'm finally done eating. Yoshio places the empty plate back on the tray. He walks back to me while holding a glass of water. He hands the glass to me. I drink the water slowly and hands the empty glass to him. He places a soft kiss on my forehead. His hand grabs the cable and press on the button to call the nurse.

A knock on the door grabs our attention. "Come in..." I said. The door opens the reveal the same nurse. She hold another tray in her hand. This time it contains a small cup filled with medicine. Yoshio walks towards her and grab the cup from her. She grabs the other tray and walks out of the room.

"Here you go, Y/N..." he said. I grab the cup from him and pop the pills inside my mouth. Yoshio hands me a glass filled with water. I take a few sips to help me gulp down the medicine.

"Thank you..." I said, making Yoshio smiles at me. He gently help me lay down. He take a seat on the edge of the bed, placing his hand on my head.

"Now you need to get some rest..." he said. I smile softly at him and nod my head. He gently pulls the blanket up to my chest. "Sleep well, Y/N. I love you..." he said. I smile at him as he grabs my hand.

"I love you too, Yoshio. You'd be here when I wake up, right?" I asked. He smiles and nods his head, assuring me that he'll be here. He lift my hand and gently places a soft kiss on the back of my hand.

Just as I was about to drift off to sleep. The door opens to reveal Hanasaki and Nii-Chan. I smile at the sight of the two of them. They smile at me and walks further in. I hear Yoshio clicking his tongue in annoyance.

"Sorry, Kobayashi. I know she's about to rest. But just a little bit longer? This is the only free time we have" Nii-Chan said. Yoshio just let out a sigh and nod his head. I let out a giggle at him and turn my attention to my friend and brother.

They gather around me as we start to talk about random things. I'm so happy to be able to be with them. Thank you, God... for still giving me a chance to be with the ones I love.
