Chapter 5

Previously on Chapter 4

"Seriously?" Hanasaki said. I lean my body against the window. "It's just like before..." I said, in a soft voice."Wait... you've seen him before?" Hanasaki asked. I turn to look at him and nod my head. I turn to look at the boy who's still running. What's with him? And who is he?

Y/N P.O.V

We head to the dog's owner house. I feel so bad that we have to announce the dog's death to the owner. I just know they'll be very upset. I mean... long a pet that we love so much is just like losing a family. Who am I kidding?? Pets are family.

I just stand next to Hanasaki, who's holding a box with the dog's dead body. I have my head down, not wanting to see the owner's heartbroken expression. I will feel more upset. I know that I can heal animals, but I figured it was only the ones who are close to death. Like that little bird I healed when I was a kid.

I found out that little bird was not actually dead after I tried to heal another animal who's already dead. My healing power didn't work. That's how I find out about it. But the dog in Hanasaki's arms died in an instant after getting hit by that boy's forcefield.

I clench my hands, as tears starting to form in my eyes when I hear the sound of broken sobs coming from the person in front of me. I feel a hand on my shoulder and tilt my head to see Hanasaki, looking at me with a sad gaze.

"Come on, L/N... let's go" he said. I just nod my head in silent. I turn around and follows Hanasaki as he starts walking. I lift my hand and gently wipe away my tears.

"Where are we going now?" I asked. He turns to look at me. "I wanna see if we can find that boy" he said. I just hum softly and nod my head. We decided to just head back to that building.

When we reach the abandon building, I notice the white haired boy sitting by the blood stain on the floor. He gently let a flower fall onto the place. I can almost feel the sadness radiating from his body.

"You're more upset about it than anyone, right?" Hanasaki said. I turn to look at him with an annoyed look. The boy turns around to look at us. He quickly stands up and jumps out of the window again.

"Hey! Wait!!" Hanasaki yelled out, rushing forward. He looks out the window as I do the same. The boy just lay on the ground without moving. Hanasaki throw his leg over the windowsill and jumps off.

"Hanasaki!!" I yelled out. He uses his watch to send a wire towards a nearby wall. I let out a sigh at his antique. Is he always like that? I think Nii-Chan forgot to mention how reckless Hanasaki is, and he expect me to trust my life with him? "Seriously?" I muttered, while shaking my head in disbelief.

I turn around and runs downstairs, just in time to see Hanasaki starting to chase after the boy. "Don't just chase him like that! You're only going to scare him off, you idiot!" I yelled. But Hanasaki ignores me and keeps on chasing after the boy. I shake my head at his persistent in trying to know about the boy.

"Stay away! Stay away! Stay away! Stay away!!" The boy kept yelling for Hanasaki to leave him alone. "You heard what he said, Hanasaki!! Just leave him alone! That's not a way to get to know someone!" I yelled. Again, my comment turns a deaf-ear. Nii-Chan... why'd you recruit someone like him?

The boy keeps on activating his force every time he runs towards something. Even when jumping into a lake. I just walk calmly when the boy finally stops running. He looks exhausted because of Hanasaki's chase.

"You really do love running away, huh?" Hanasaki said. I walk up to him and gently pulled his ear. He let out a yelp at my action and rub his ear. "What was that for?" He asked. I roll my eyes and crosses my arms across my chest. I turn to look at the boy.

"I'm sorry for my idiotic's friend. I already warned him to not chase you around. My name is L/N Y/N. May I know your name?" I said. He turns his head to look at me.

"Kobayashi Yoshio..." he said. Hanasaki walks up to a fending machine. He get three drinks. He hands one to me and toss one to the boy. I step back when the bottle gets split in half by the boy's forcefield. I got lucky that I didn't get splattered by the drink, but Hanasaki isn't so lucky.

I slowly walks up to the boy and place my drink near him. "You can have mine..." I said, smiling softly at him. He turns to look at the bottle of drink and take it. He open the cap and take a sip, only to gag.

"First time trying carbonated water?" I asked, with a small smile. He turns to look at me and nods his head. I hum softly and place my hands behind my back, letting out a soft giggle. "Yeah, relatable... I used to hate carbonated water. It took a while for me to get used of it" I said.

Hanasaki suddenly runs off. "Hey!!" I called out. But he just ignores me. I let out a huff and turn to the boy. "I'll be going now, Kobayashi-San. Nii-Chan told Hanasaki to look after me. But seems like it's the other way around. See ya!" I said, smiling while giving him a quick wave. I turn around and chases after Hanasaki.

Kobayashi P.O.V

I watch as the h/c haired girl runs off chasing after her friend. For some reason, I feel something tugs against my chest. I lift my hand, placing it against my chest where my heart is.

For some reason, I don't want the girl to leave. For some odd reason... I want her to stay around me. I have never felt this way before. Having her around, makes my heart feel at ease for some reason. I just met the girl a few times but I already felt this way.

I shake my head. Why did I even think about this? The only thing I want in this world is to die. I don't need anything else. I let out a sigh and turn my head forward. I notice something on the ground. I stand up and picks it up, realizing it's the boy's wallet.

"Tch..." I said, turning to the direction where the boy ran off to. Looks like I've got no choice but to chase after them and returns the wallet to the boy. I don't want to admit it, but I kind of want to see the h/c haired girl again. What was her name again? Oh right...
