Chapter 12

Previously on Chapter 11

"I sure hope he knows what he's doing. Hanasaki tends to act recklessly. I hope he's not going to get himself killed..." I said. Yoshio just pat my shoulder softly, as an attempt to calm me down. I turn to look at him and smiles softly.

-Unidentified City-

Y/N P.O.V

Yoshio and I head back inside the office. Inoue just stares at the two of us with a stern expression on his face. He looks unhappy, letting me know that he was aware of what we did.

"Why did you let him go? I thought I told you both to make sure he didn't" he said. I let out a sigh and take a seat on one of the couches. Yoshio doing the same, as he sits next to me.

"You knew Hanasaki better than I do. Can you tell just one time, where he would listen?" I said. He let out a huff at what I said, running his hand across his face. I'm right about it... and he knows it. That's why he didn't try to argue.

"However, I can't deny the fact that I am worried for him... we all know how reckless he is" I said, while letting out a soft sigh. I lean my head back and stare at the ceiling.

I watch as the fishes inside the tanks swims about, without caring of the world surround them. It must be nice to not stress about life. Makes me wonder what it would be like if I was born as a fish instead.

I open my mouth as I start to yawn softly. I feel an arm going over my head, wrapping itself around my shoulder. I turn my head slightly to see it's Yoshio. He gently pulls me closer to his side, letting me rest my head on his shoulder.

"Eh... what?" I asked. I try to pull away, but he hold me in place with a hand on the side of my head to keep me from moving my head from his shoulder. I tilt my head slightly so I can see his face. I can see a small smile on his lips.

"You look tired... so, I'm lending you my shoulder to rest. Feel free to sleep if you want to..." he said. I just smile at his kind gesture. I snuggle closer to his side, burying my face in the crook of his neck. I close my eyes, letting myself drift off to sleep.

Yoshio P.O.V

I turn my head slightly as I glance at Y/N. The sound of her breathing is slow and steady, letting me know that she have fallen asleep. I can feel a small smile starting to form on my lips.

I turn my head slightly and notice Inoue staring at me. "What?" I said. He shakes his head and returns to reading his book. I just raise an eyebrow at him. But decided to not say anything. I turn my head and stare at Y/N again.

I decided to move her so she would be comfortable. I gently move her so she's laying down with her head on my lap. I place my hand on her head, caressing her hair softly.

Being so close with Y/N, it brought warmth into my chest. A feeling so foreign to me. I don't remember the last time I've felt this way. A sense of comfort and happiness... and all it takes is being around Y/N.

I've got no idea what this emotion is. All I know is that I don't want Y/N to be away from me. I want her to stay with me. The thought of her leaving me alone scares me... a lot.

Y/N P.O.V

When I open my eyes, I realize I'm inside a moving car. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. I pull away from Yoshio's shoulder and turn to look at him. He turn to look at me.

"You're awake, Y/N... you slept so well. Sorry if you are confused... but we have to get moving. I didn't want to wake you up. So I just carried you..." he said, while smiling softly at me. I tilt my head slightly as I stare at him.

"Where are we going?" I asked. He turn his head to look forward. I turn my head to see Inoue driving the car. He turn to look at me through the mirror. I can see an annoyed look on his face, letting me know the destination we're heading to isn't good.

"We're going to help Hanasaki. That guy do get in trouble after all..." he said, rolling his eyes. I just nod my head at what he said. I'm completely not surprised. It is Hanasaki we're talking about. I turn my head to look out the window, watching in silent as the building passes by.

The car eventually come to a stop. We leave the car and stare into the distance. There's a wall covering the area, along with a line forming a circle. I stare at the line, wondering what it might be for.

I can hear a voice from the intercom, warning us to not walk pass the line or we will get shot. Yoshio take a step forward. I quickly grab his hand, making him turn to look at me.

"Don't... what if your shield didn't work? You'll get hurt" I said. He smiles softly at me. He gently move my hand from his. He turn to face me, and places a hand on my shoulder.

"I will be fine... don't worry" he said. He leans down and places a soft kiss on my forehead. I can feel my cheeks getting a bit warmer at his sudden gesture of affection. But I just stare at Yoshio with a worried gaze. He smiles softly at me, and gently ruffles my hair.

He turns around and walks passed the line. In an instant, there are guns firing at him. I stare at him worriedly. The shield surrounds his body activates, effectively protecting him from the bullets.

We waited until the sound of gunshots is stop. I turn my head to look at Inoue. He nods his head, letting me know that it's safe for us to head inside. I nod my head in agreement. We turn to face the entrance and make our way inside.

Yoshio is standing over the destroyed machines. He turns to look at me and smiles softly. I let out a sigh or relief, as I smile back at him. I run towards him, throwing my arms around his neck. He stumbles a little, but manage to keep himself steady. He wraps his arms firmly around my waist.

"Are you okay, Yoshio? I was so worried..." I said. He places a hand on my head, gently running his hand through my hair. "Yeah... I'm fine, Y/N. I'm sorry for making you worried..." he said, in a soft voice. I pull away from him and smiles softly.

"You're okay, that's what's matters" I said. He smiles softly at me and nod his head in agreement. Now we just have to find Hanasaki, and get out of this place. I will give an earful of scolding towards that boy. He keeps getting into trouble and make people worried!
