Chapter 8

"He wants to die? Why??" I said. He just shakes his head, letting me know that he didn't know. I frown and turn to look forward. I remember the first time I met him. But I didn't know it was that serious, I just thought it was something he keeps doing to test out the extent of his power. So Kobayashi wants to die... but why?

Y/N P.O.V

Hanasaki wants to introduce me to the rest of the team. He knew that I'm not good with people, but he insisted anyway. He assures me that these people are friendly. He said their names are Tomohisa Otomo and Tasuku Yamane.

"Come on, Y/N, don't be shy. They're nice" Hanasaki said, as he pulls me along the school's hallway. I just stay silent along the way. I tried to pull my hand out of his grip, but he held it firmly. I guess I don't have a choice but to meet them.

Eventually, we reach a room that seem to be a lab. I look around the place as Hanasaki gently pushes me inside. I stumble a little and bumps into someone. I take a few steps back to see a guy with light brown hair.

"S-Sorry..." I said, nervously. He just smiles softly at me and turns to look at Hanasaki who just whistles innocently. "You shouldn't be pushing girls around, idiot. That's not a way to treat a girl..." he scolds. I hear a chuckle from Hanasaki.

"Yeah yeah... Otomo, this is Kogoro Y/N" Hanasaki said, gesturing towards me. Otomo turns to look at me with his eyebrows furrowed. "Kogoro? Are you related to Akechi?" He asked.

"Not by blood... but he's like a brother to me" I said. He hums softly and offers a hand to me. "Well, nice to meet you, Y/N-Chan..." he said. I gently accept his hand. "Likewise..." I said, smiling softly at him. He smiles back in return.

"And this one is Tasuku Yamane" Hanasaki said as another boy walks inside the room. This time he have brown red hair. He looks so delicate in a way, along with a look of gentleness in his eyes. He smiles softly at me and offers a handshake.

"Yeah, like he said... I'm Tasuku Yamane. And you are?" He said. I take his hand, shaking it lightly. "I'm Kogoro Y/N. Kogoro Akechi's sister... not by blood. He just took me in as his sister" I said. He nods his head at my brief explanation.

I look around the place. "Soo, where's Noro? I don't see any girl here" I said, turning to look at Hanasaki. He let out a chuckle at what I said. "Oh, Noro's not here. She usually helped us from her house. That's why Pippo is here. You'll meet her later, I'll take you to her. Along with Kobayashi" he said. I just hum at what he said and nod my head.

Hanasaki is looking around the city, while I follow him quietly. He's probably trying to find Kobayashi. That boy loves to hide from us. I don't know what's with him.

"Ah, there you are. Come on... I'd like you to meet somebody" he said. Kobayashi stands up from his spot and turns to look at us. "How did you keep on finding me?" He asked. Hanasaki let out a chuckle and take out his badge.

"This badge also have JPS on it" he said. Kobayashi just make an annoyed sound. I just giggle softly at the white haired boy. He turns to look at me. I just give him a close-eyes smile. I open my eyes to see him looking away from me with red cheeks. I blink my eyes in confusion. What did I do? Why'd he react that way?

"Anyway, come on. Let's go..." Hanasaki said. I just nod my head. "Why should I go along?" Kobayashi said. I turn to look at him and pout.

"Hanasaki refuses to take only me. He wants you to come along. Please?" I said. Kobayashi turns to look at me and starts to blush again. He let out a sigh and nods his head, letting us know that he'd come along. Hanasaki grins and grabs my wrist. He starts to pull me along. I turn to look at Kobayashi and gestures him to follow us, since neither of us can make body contact with him because of his shield.

Kobayashi P.O.V

I watch as Y/N gets pulled away by Hanasaki. For some reason, my heart was not willing to see those two so close to each other. I can feel it clenching in my chest. I lift my hand, placing it on my chest. It's painful... really painful. I don't know why... but I want to be the one to hold her hand, not Hanasaki.

Y/N P.O.V

We're now standing in front of a door. Hanasaki is standing in front of us. He lift his hand and knocks on the door. I can hear the sound of footsteps from the other side of the door.

"Hanasaki! How many times do I have to tell you that you shouldn't come unannounced!" Someone said. I'm guessing that's Noro. The girl I'm about to meet.

"Oh, come on, don't be like that, Noro! Look, I have someone here with me!" Hanasaki said, taking a side step so Noro can see me through the peephole. I can hear a faint gasp from the other side. Then the door swings open.

I flinch when a pair of arms is thrown around me. I stumble a little, trying my best to stay standing. "W-Woah..." I yelped. Noro giggles and pulls away from me, holding my cheeks with her fingers as she lightly pulls them.

"You're even cuter in person!" She squealed. I blush deep shade of red at her compliment. "T-Thank you, Noro-Chan..." I said. She squeals and hugs me again, rubbing her cheeks against mine. I let out a nervous laugh at her action. I turn to look at Hanasaki, who just stares at us with an amused expression.

Noro pulls away, and grabs my hand. She starts to pull me inside her apartment. I hear a chuckle and turn my head to see Hanasaki. He shakes his head and walks inside, followed by Kobayashi who just walks inside in silence.

"Here you go~" Noro said, placing a cup of f/d on the table. I blink my eyes in surprise. "How did you know I like these?" I said. She let out a giggle and shrugs her shoulders.

"Lucky guess... you look like the type of person that likes that flavor..." she said, grinning at me. I just hum and nod my head. She smiles and takes a seat next to me.

"Hey, no fair! What about us?" Hanasaki said. Noro just glance at him. "You don't get any! This is just for Y/N-Chan! My bestie!!" She said, throwing her arms around me again. I let out a yelp and wraps my arms around her in return. Where did she get the energy from? It seems endless.

Hanasaki starts sulking as he sits in his spot. Noro walks off and grabs a tablet. She walks over to me and hands it to me. I take it from her and stares at it in confusion.

"What's this for?" I asked. Noro giggles softly and ruffles my hair. "Fill in your info of course!" She said. I tilt my head in confusion but do as told anyway.

She takes it once I'm done. She gasp softly when she reads what I wrote. "Oh, you poor thing. I'm so glad Akechi-San took you in" she said, hugging me again. I just give her a small smile.

She turns to Kobayashi and asked him to do the same. But he don't have a thing to write. He didn't even remember his own birthday. Something must have happened to him when he was little that makes him like this. I stare at him with a sad expression.

He notices my gaze and turns to look at me. I look away, feeling my cheeks getting warm because he just caught me staring. Why did I even react this way though?
