*Alrighty just before I carry on ima tell u what's going on bs honestly idk what else to do. My nan was given 18 months to live nine years ago and since then it's been extraordinary but still fragile. It was the same even a month ago but in that time her health has become evident to coming to an end and within the last two weeks its gotton to the point of funeral arrangements have been made. Now me, my brother, and my mother live in England while the rest of the family live in Ireland so we've been receiving updates (with my mother flying in and out) but last week my mum told me we needed to fly in as soon as possible but due to some passport interferences we have not been able to until yesterday when we got up at 5am to get the first flight we could. I'm currently sat in my nans house writing this along with doing some coursework that I'm missing to be here. I'm not sure how long I'll be in Ireland and have not booked return tickets. I intend to keep writing but I can't promise much, and this chapter will be extraordinary short. I won't go into personal details of the last 24 hours as it is personal, but I will say that its been very emotional and that I would like to be here for my little brother and cousin as they have not done this thing before and that my cousin isn't getting told things while my brother would rather not know so I'm trying to keep them updated with everything.
I guess I'm trying to go to as many funerals that I can before the end of the year 😂
I would love to know how you are all doing, hope its all well.
Love you, thank you.*
No One's POV
A long, polished, dark oak wood table sat in the middle of the room, surrounded by men and women all dressed in smart attire except three. Two men and a woman sat casually, adamantly, while the rest sat, straight back, and uncomfortable.
Stiff chatter floated around the room while the man at the head of the table -the doctor- didn't move, staring blankly at the wall ahead of him. No one knew what to do. Was he about to yell? Talk? Tell them what to do? Why didn't he just start? It made the room feel uneasy. Even the two, clearly misplaced, casual people looked at each other in confusion. Normally, he would have spoken to them by now. Normally.
"Urm- sir?" A man spoke up from the middle of the table. He was wearing a bowtie slightly too big for him, making him look like a child playing dress up with his fathers clothes.
No answer.
The eyes of the woman wearing ripped jeans and an old band t-shirt shot a glance to another man, one with a thick ugly-looking moustache. Said man returned her uneasy look, but puffed out his chest, clearly trying to prove some sort of authority to the rest of the group, "Doctor, tell us why you have gathered us. I, at least, have very important business to attend to and this meeting is taking too long. Tell us or I walk."
With no answer the man with the pig-like face got up and started towards to the door. A few about to follow.
"Too busy to discuss what you want, and I can get?" the doctors voice sounded tired but still held power. Enough power to make everyone stop. To make them slowly turn to look at his smiling face. But not a normal smile. A twisted smile that looked unnatural, as if a spirt was possessing him. A handsome face turned into a gruesome excuse for one.
Moustache man lifted his chin, peering down his broad nose, "Do you mean?-"
"No." the doctor stood up, somehow making everyone else take a seat, "Because someone hasn't been persuasive enough." At this he made his way around to stand behind a young lady's chair. The woman looked terrified, bowing her head in shame, hiding behind her fiery red hair. "No, no, don't hide. Would you like to tell them of your failure, or should I?" Lifting a piece of her hair with one finger he slid a pocket knife out of his sleeve and cut the chunk.
