**Bonjour! Ca va? Hope your okay and well. Hope you enjoy! **

No One's POV

Irony hung in the air as the 'city that never sleeps' seemed so quiet. All the streetlamps emitted their dull glow onto the street below them, showing Wade the way to go. Each step he took echoed down the blocks, pushing up the walls of the skyscrapers. Slowly, slower than he remembered, Wade made his way to Peter's old apartment. As the buildings got smaller Wade's emotions and thought seemed to scream louder. It was so obvious that Wade was overthinking everything and he shouldn't even be entertaining the idea however he seemed to find himself walking the streets of New York City, telling everyone he was going on patrol. Since Peter left as a way of keeping the peace with the team Tony had been paying for the apartment and its upkeep, no cleaners were allowed in per Wade's request, but Tony looked after it by adding security camera on the windows etc to make sure it didn't fall victim to becoming a crack house. As soon as Wade reached the building, he started to do the breathing exercises Dr Dove taught to him and Harley after finding out about Sofia's worsened conditions. Steady the heart, steady the breathing. Going through the safe phrases, tapping the tip of each finger to his thumb, Wade climbed the stairs to the apartment he called home for what felt like forever. Strange how going to Peter's apartment felt almost the same and when he brought Peter back to May's to retrieve his stuff.

The door creaked open slowly, Wade's key still inside the lock, opening the dusty apartment for Wade. He took a step in before closing the door quietly behind in (in case Pepper or Alice was in next door), looking around the room. Everything was caked in dust and mildew. It didn't feel real, looking at the apartment in such a state, dead and empty when it used to be full of life. He went to the door of Sofia's room, pushing open the door to look at all the colour that had faded. There were a few toys that she didn't play with much when they moved out laying across the floor, their little faces smushed into the ground, letting the grime form over them. Turning away from the remains of Sofia's first proper bedroom he then went to peer into the bathroom, almost laughing at the dirt that had accumulated there considering Peters previous incessant need for bathrooms be as clean as possible. Keeping the lighter mood, he finally moved to go into Peter's room. This was the most painful. Everything was just how they left it. B – E – D – R – O – O – M. What was in here that Peter wanted Wade to see? And why him when everyone else could have done this. With this mindset he started to go over everything that only he might know about Peter, what did he know that even Harley might forget or not know? His pace started to pick up, turning over all the books and papers in the room, going through half full draws and even inspecting any bottle of deodorant or cologne in there. Running his fingers over the window ledge and over all the creases in the wooden furniture. What did he know that no one else did? It didn't make sense, Harley had been in this room as much as Wade had so what could he possibly know that Harley wouldn't. That's when it hit him. Spiderman. Wade knew that Peter was Spiderman before Harley did. So how did that link.... "The wall!" He exclaimed.

When Peter first moved in he found/made a hole in the wall behind his wardrobe to hide his Spiderman costume in when Harley came around and just for safety measures. Peter told Wade about if in case he ever needed his costume and couldn't get to it. As quickly as humanly possible Wade launched himself over to the wardrobe, pulling is across the room (still trying to be relatively quiet) and that's where he saw them. In the little hole there was a small pile of papers. Within seconds Wade had pulled the papers out of the hole and sat on the bed to look through them. It didn't take long to skim through them all, the letters and photos that proved what Wade first thought. Peter didn't leave. He didn't leave them behind. He didn't abandon them. He still loved them. He still loved him.
