*Hola mi amigos! I hope you are enjoying the book so far, and I promise the next couple chapters won't be as boring as the last couple. How are your days going?... no, not going to answer, okay... Enjoy!*
Peter's POV
I was walking off the subway to the coffee shop to do some work. I had spent the morning begging Bruce, Tony and Natasha to let me go to school with Harley and Wade. They had to compromise by letting me go to school, but I wasn't allowed to do my internship later.
"Why are you going to a coffee shop?" Wade said over the phone, "Just go home with Harley."
I twisted around people in the busy streets of New York, "Because, I want to focus on some work. Mr Stark said he'd fire me if he saw me in today so I can't go to the internship, so coffee shop it is. Plus, cake."
"Fair enough. Will I see you later?"
I nod, even though I know he couldn't see me, "Yeah, I'll facetime you later. Can you call Alice and check on her?"
"She with Sofia?"
"No, Sofia's with Natasha and Harley. Alice just seems a little more nervous lately, I think we just need to be there for her at the moment."
"Ok, no worries, I will. But you should call her too, I don't know why but she has this protectiveness over you." He laughs a little, me joining in. "Talk to you later spooderman." He snarks.
"Cya deaddick." I roll my eyes at his demonic giggles when I know someone was giving him weird looks. I hang up in the middle of his wheezing and saying something about calling an ambulance... if he needs me, I'm his emergency contact.
The little bell at the top of the door chimed as I walked in. There wasn't a lot of people sitting down, most just waiting at the counter for a to go coffee. "For gods sake." I mutter, taking my place in line to wait to order a hot chocolate.
-a 'what felt like forever' time skip brought to you by my adorable gf's adorable present-
The barista slid my hot chocolate and blueberry muffin across the counter. I smiled at the person serving, picking them up, "Thank you, have a nice day." They smiled back, obviously not used to people saying thank you.. sad, really.
I take a seat on a two-person table next to the window. "Ahh." I relax back in the chair, taking a bite of muffin.
No One's POV
Peter shook his head, trying to get into the work mindset. His laptop was set out in front of him, notebooks, pencil and pen perching on the edge. His hot chocolate was an empty mug set to the side. Music playing in one of his earphones, he left one out so he could hear is someone needed help.
"Peter? Peter Parker?"
Peter looked up confused, pausing his music.
"It is you!"
It took him a minute to realise who it was and when he did his mind was in two places, "Ned Leeds?"
Ned smiled, "The one and only! God, how long has it been?"
"Couple years." Peter said, a little nervous.
Ned laughed, looking a little nervous too, "Can I- can I get you a refill? Maybe we can catch up.."
Peter had to think about it a little, not wanting to be rude he agreed, "Yeah sure, hot chocolate please." He held out a fiver, but Ned refused to take it.
"My treat."
Ned walked away leaving Peter trying to clear the table for him. "Let's hope he isn't like last time..." He prayed.
