**Hola. Hope everyone is doing okay. This chapter isn't too important but I enjoyed writing it so I hope you enjoy reading it. Wrote most of it while watching the O.J Simpson documentary. Anyone watched that? Do you think he did it? Anyway, here you go!***

Wade's POV

January is shit. Outside is cold and miserable while inside is stressed and chaotic. The SATs seemed to be stressing out Harley more than anything – we booked to take them early to give us more time to spend with Sofia and get ready for collage. Harley keeps snapping at me even though I'm also trying to study for the stupid tests which we'd literally be taking at the same time. But I can't tell anyone the only reason why my mood is better and why I'm not losing my mind to stress about sitting exams I had completely forgotten about for months was because me and Alice sneak away everyday to work on our case for finding Peter. Relentless hope keeps me from falling into a rut despite the reality of it all.

It's been over a year since Peter disappeared so the chance of him even being alive is slim. What reason would the Red Room and Hydra keep him alive? Alice has made this point more than once and the only thing I can come back with is: why would they go to all the effort just to kill him? I mean, they broke infiltrated into the Avengers Tower for what? Shits and giggles?

So far, between me and Alice's big brains, we have been able to translate all the letters – putting the translations pinned up next to the original copies – and we put everything into a rough timeline. It was easy to begin with but soon enough the letters seemed to blur due to the gaps between when they were written and sent to Pete, leaving us guessing where they should go. What neither of us can figure out is if Peter had been writing back and if so: how? I mean.. How else could Hydra (or the Red Room) know so much about what was going on with Peter's personal life at the time; it seemed to go beyond just stalking and looking through windows. They knew so much! The apartment must have been bugged or something but the letters even went back to before we unofficially moved into the tower (and who in their right mind would bug the Avengers Tower?). Even with everything that's going on, I still find time to work with Harley every chance we can between studying and working on the case, to work on our custody case of getting joint guardianship over Sofia. We're making headway with the signed consent forms from Natasha, Alice and Bucky. However, there was a clause instated that any major decision to be made would have to be discussed with the three of them before Wade and Harley got the final say. Despite this, the Stark lawyers made it clear that is wasn't a slam dunk case as it was a strange situation to begin with, considering Sofia has no biological family members in the pircute and how Pete isn't here to wave his rights (not to mention I'm not eighteen yet). The lawyers said it was a possibility they might have to go back to Sofia's biological parents to get signed consent for the new adoption agreement. (A/N don't tell me, I know it's not how it works!!- ITS FOR THE PLOT DUH)

Not stressful at all.

All the stress and anxiety started to build up as the talk of collages came into play with the adults and what would happen if me or Harley wanted to go somewhere outside New York. Luckily for everyone involved, Harley's top choice is NYU to study art and art history- and given his recent announcement as heir to Stark Industries no one expects a rejection. I'm the difficulty. For the last year and a bit, I just expected I would be Deadpool fulltime and be Sofia's uncle/guardian when she's at home or at hospital. Unrealistic given there's no money involved in that, helpfully pointed out by Wanda. So, I haven't been thinking about which collage or what to study at it. If you were to ask me three years ago, I'd probably go down a similar path to Harley with the art train but a conversation I had with Peter a few months before he left had made me, think more about it. Nursing made perfect sense for me; I love helping people, I enjoy the banter other nurses have with each other at the hospitals I most frequent and the added bonus that it would allow me to look after Sofia better. Plus, I would not be able to spend nearly a decade of my life studying be a doctor. Wouldn't be able to hack it.
