{Your POV}
The rest of the week had flown by, and by the time Wednesday came the rest of the school had simply come to terms with Blackstar's 'new life choice', and amusingly seemed more surprised when he stopped wearing the dress than when he had first started.
Kid still ignored you, though he would always stare at you in class, and whenever Soul was nearby Kid always showed up straight away, doing his best to keep Soul and I apart.
And it pissed me off.
"If Kid doesn't wanna be with me, he has no right to keep Soul and I apart!! What the hell is wrong with him?!" I had screamed at Tsubaki, but she only smiled sympathetically and placed her hand on top of mine.
"I don't know, y/n, but whatever it is, we'll figure it out," she assured me, and it really did make me feel better.
Despite Kids new- unpleasant- persona, Liz and Patty were still intent on the group mission.
"Lord Death says we can leave on Saturday!" Patty had chirped.
"For what?" I asked confused.
Liz chuckled. "For the group mission, dope." She punched my arm playfully. "Those Central Park murders ain't gonna quit by them self."
"Central... Park... Murder... Oh yah! I remember now!" I said with a smile.
Liz winked. "Can't wait."
We had had that conversation on Wednesday, but it was now Friday and I still hadn't heard any more about it. I got up from my bed and walked through the symmetrical maze that was Kids manor to the sitting room.
I walked into the room, and was surprised to see Kid sitting on one of the sofas casually with a book in his lap. He was wearing the asymmetrical outfit I had picked out, even though he had stopped wearing it to school the day before. Kid looked up and stared at me blankly, so I started to back out of the room.
"Nearly ready to go?" Kid asked.
I froze.
"Huh?"
Kid smirked. "Its nearly eight, are you almost ready to go?"
What the hell?
He was normal now?
"U-um... Yeah just a few minutes," I replied and quickly took off to my room.
Date.. date.. outfit.. date... The words rang in my head over and over as I searched through my closet hysterically. Most of my clothes had been burned in the fire at the apartment, but the school gave Tashi and I some money to restock what we'd lost, and I had been given some clothes from Tsubaki, the Thompsons, and even some bottoms from Maka, despite the fact none of her tops would fit.
In the end, I picked out high-waisted black skinny jeans with grey converse, a crimson long sleeved crop-top and some earrings that were made of black zippers.
I quickly grabbed my purse and shoved it in my jeans pocket before hurrying out of my bedroom and down to the front door where Kid was waiting for me.
He grinned. "You look great," he complimented coolly and I could feel my cheeks flush.
"Thanks, so do you."
He opened the door and bowed to let me pass through, making me smile. I patted his head as I walked out the door and I heard him chuckle.
"So, where are we going?" I asked Kid, trying desperately hard not to stare at his mesmerising smile, which was proving to be incredibly difficult. I couldn't handle it; when something so perfect is hidden from you for so long, any rare occasion to catch a mere glimpse of it is a miracle.
