{Y/n's POV}
I stood still, unable to move. Crumbling stone walls, adorned with moss and fractures, stretched high into the sky, illuminated with a blue radiance from the moon shining through the vast breach in the ceiling- or, what would be the ceiling, if there was anything left of it.
It looked as though I was in the throne room of an ancient temple. It was a circular chamber, the walls composed of intricately designed arches, each one standing over the remains of a deteriorating statue. There were pillars the whole way around the room- surprisingly, a lot of them were still standing, though none without cracks or fractures. The whole room was centered around a large dais, remaining untouched by time, as though it was crafted not a week before.
I listened out for the dripping sound, but it had disappeared. Though I could not see or hear anyone, I could feel it... somewhere in my mind... With the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end...
She was here.
It was fine though, I could take her. Even if I couldn't, I was sure the gang would be there soon, and together, we could tear her apart...
... Right?
But... They had no way of knowing where I was... I had no idea how long I'd been in that temple, but it couldn't have been that long, could it..?
'What if she's already killed them?'
Huh?!
No. No, I knew that voice. That stupid, stupid voice from that stupid, stupid ogre!
'I know. I know what's happened. I know what will. I was awake, while you counted sheep. I heard what she did, while you lay asleep...'
"Get-out-of-my-head!" I screamed, pounding my fists to my temple. "Get out! Get out! Get out!"
'I'm the only one who'll help, don't you realise? Wake up sleeping beauty, open your eyes...'
I huffed. "Oh, great. So you're rhyming now. Wonderful."
'I'll get you out of this mess, and with great ease. All you have to do, is simply... Say... Please.'
"Oh for gods sake, Phiona!" I called out, my voice echoing against the crumbling walls. "Just come out here and fight me already!"
A bird flew from one side of the room to the other above me, silhouetted against the moon. It cawed, mockingly. I clenched my fists in anger, ignoring the pain of my fingernails tearing skin.
"Fine," I hissed through gritted teeth. "I'll find you on my own."
I turned my back on the sky and decided that if I were too find Phiona, I would have to find a way out of this throne room first.
To the naked eye, there was only one exit- the way I came. But it was too dark, and I had no way of lighting my path. There had to be another way.
I circled the dais and went to one of the statues. It was a weird design: it wasn't a human, nor animal, nor Kishin. From what I could tell, it was of no living creature alive to date, maybe some sort of being that died out long ago? In a time before history books?
There seemed to be an opening behind the statue, but it was immovable. I took a few steps back, raised my arm and swung a mighty battle axe forward. The statue was turned to dust in seconds.
