"That's enough! Line up!"

Grace jogged to stand beside Maya and Camren, chest heaving from their work outs. She tightened her pony tail and wiped her face free of sweat on her practice jersey. Her attention tried to focus in on one of their cheerleading captains, but it was pulled away as a familiar blonde boy shuffled in on her other side.

"Didn't think you'd actually stay on the cheer team." Grace whispered, not turning her head away from the front incase the strict captain caught her making a side bar.

Carter chuckled, not caring as much. He leaned towards her ear and flicked her ponytail teasingly.

"I put my heart on you quitting the first week." He whispered, smirking when Grace rolled her orange eyes. "Was it an incorrect prediction?"

"Yes, laddy, it was a finely incorrect prediction on your part. Bloody hell, you bloke." Grace replied back, playfully copying his accent with an amused curl to her lips as Carter bumped his hip with his tiny friend.

"Championships are in a week!" Samantha Fitzgerald called to her squad as she walked down the line with her head held high and her arms crossed behind her back. She looked over the cheerleaders as she passed, not meeting their eyes for longer than a second. "We seem to have an issue with scheduling as Regionals have been moved to this weekend as well. A superior has already chosen which of you will split for Regionals and which of you will go to the game to cheer on our boys. Hence why we have recruited a few of our extra boys from the over flowed sports teams to help make numbers."

"Please no Regionals. Please no Regionals. Please no Regionals." Camren whispered, crossing her fingers behind her back.

"Why?" Grace whispered, confused as to why she wouldn't want to go compete this weekend.

"Because the bus ride is long and smelly, and we'd get to use the plane if we all vote it in." Camren explained, as Grace groaned.

"You don't get my vote." Grace grumbled.

"Ladies, gentlemen." Samantha stopped in front of the group and pulled out a notepad from her jacket. "If you are in Miss Tale's fourth block, you will be going to Ohio for the football Championships. Please be on time for practices at the same time as usual, but in the south gymnasium with Sarah and Miss Tale. You will be performing at half time...If you have any questions, ask Miss Sabrina. You're all dismissed."

"Ugh." Grace groaned, leaning into Carter as the taller boy threw his arm around her shoulders and turned her towards the locker rooms. She looked up at him and raised a brow when she noticed his smile. "What?"
