"And this is a blue toy. Yeah! See?"

Grace leaned her head on her hand and watched Santana play with Ángel from the kitchen island, sighing softly. She brushed her fingers over her engagement ring, inhaling deeply as she forced her eyes away from Santana's smile and back toward the food she was prepping for her children.

Christmas was complete shit.

Grace wouldn't hide and pretend it was the greatest holiday because she hated it. Besides it being the first Christmas for her youngest eight, she had a horrible time handling her exes and her fiancé.

Yes, she was engaged to Finn.

After a long conversation with her parents and a lot of arguing between Ella and William, it came down to Grace choosing to move in with Finn to get out of the stressful back and forth her parent's separation status in the court's eyes was causing her. She wouldn't have to go house to house any longer, and her children could have one solid place to stay.

It initially upset her mother, but she felt like Ella understood her reasons and was grateful when the woman allowed her to find herself. She wasn't allowed to get married to Finn just yet, but they had begun looking at houses with their parents in hopes of beating the next wave of drama that came their way.

Grace just wanted her children to have more than she was currently giving them through her failure to balance, but part of that would be to blame on Santana and Quinn, considering their behavior.

"Do you need help?" Santana asked, walking into the room with their son on her hip.

Grace smiled a bit at the sight of the woman. She had been driving back when she could help out after their...last altercation ended with Santana spending the night in a holding cell. It somehow seemed to put something in her baby daddies' brains that night because they were attempting at this so-called plan they had yet to share with her and driving back to spend more time with the kids when they could.

"No, I'm okay," Grace replied, taking Ángel when he reached out for her. "Hi, baby! Did you have fun with Daddy?"

"Bageeeo." Ángel babbled, pulling Grace's hair into his mouth and teething on his little fingers with big brown eyes that matched Santana's to his perfect glittering amber gems.

"I know. Daddy's here, huh?" Grace smiled brightly, kissing his cheek a few times and hugging him close. She looked up at Santana and blushed when she noticed the girl watching her with a smile. "What?"

"Nothing." Santana breathed out, shrugging. "I like how you are with the kids."

"Hm." Grace hummed softly as she returned to the counter and continued distributing food on the child platters. "Oh. Did you see their new picture on the photo wall?"
