The tea in front of Grace wasn't full enough. She felt absolutely shattered by the volume of this news. Things could not possibly get worse in her life involving her father, and now she needed to deal with his second love affair outcome rolling into her life.

"You're eighteen?" Rochelle asked, knee bouncing under the table. She seemed as nervous as Grace felt. "And...And seventeen kids with your...three girlfriends. Your superwoman. Defying odds."

"Not really." Grace shook her head, sipping the tea Quinn recommended to calm her nerves.

It wasn't working. The tea tasted like straight-up baby vomit, and she felt sick to her stomach.

"Grace, I am so sorry for throwing this all on you." Rochelle apologized again, sighing when the younger woman looked up at her. "I wanted to get to know you. I don't have siblings. Our Dad wasn't around."

"You're lucky." Grace licked her lips. "Will ruined my life. You were better off without him."

"I beg to differ." Rochelle tapped her coffee with her long, manicured nails and stared at Grace's reserved body language. "I—"

"You said you needed my help." Grace interrupted, raising her brows. "I can't help but be a little taken back by this ambush. Will has tried to ruin my life. He's...hurt me in more ways than I can comfortably tell you. I don't mind being friendly, but... I'm not a friendly person."

"I've got that." Rochelle smiled. "I found out about you when you were sixteen. You were pregnant and...I didn't have the heart to approach you."

Grace looked around Lima Bean and tried her best to breathe through the tightening in her chest. She closed her eyes briefly and almost cried when she opened them to two new people at their table.

"You could use an older sister." Gracelynn smiled when Grace looked over Rochelle as the woman explained how she found her again with a little more detail. "She has older kids. Maybe she knows how to get through to Lilly."

"Does Will only rape hispanics?" Rosabelle laughed, leaning back in her chair and eyeing Rochelle. "We should meet her Mom. I bet she looks like Mommy co—"

"Who's your mother?" Grace interrupted Rochelle again, blinking a few times when the woman stopped in surprise. "My Mom and Will met in high school."

"I'm not entirely sure how they met." Rochelle's brown eyes dimmed. "My Mom passed when I was young. I don't have too many memories of her."
