137 - Red Keep (5 Months Later)
Visenya sits in the sun; the feeling of the sun on her face and the wind from the sea calms her. She and Ben spend most of their days outside now, whether in the gardens or the Godswood. Ben sits in the shade, finding the spring sun to be warm for him. He has a piece of wood, he had tasked himself with craving raven out of it in his lap, but his attention is more focused on Visenya and their surroundings.
Gone are the days of her being able to wear her armour or even carry her sword. The Queen had gifted Visenya many different dresses. She had been thankful that none of the dresses were any shades of green. From black to grey dresses with different embroidering of dragons, ravens, fishes, and even grey dresses with wolves and trees on it. Visenya had favoured that dress as of late, the no sleeves and low neckline letting her get more sun.
The sun shining down on Visenya reminds him of how Morghon would bathe in the sun during their time in the north. Ben thinks she might be asleep, but as her hand moves across her stomach and her head leans down in pain, he starts to get worried.
Since the incident in the dragonpit, Ben had ensured that either he or Aemond was with Visenya. His worry lessened as the months went on, knowing that the part of the pregnancy where Visenya might lose the babe had passed. But now Ben is filled with worry about the actual birth. It wasn't even his child, yet he dreads the day Visenya gives birth, scared that he might lose her.
He relaxes as Visenya leans back into the couch she is lying on, her chest rising and falling slowly. Ben returns, to his craving, satisfied that Visenya isn't in any more pain.
"I didn't expect to find you here, My Princess," A voice wakes Visenya up from her daze.
Visenya opens her eyes, squinting them at the bright sun, and Visenya huffs as Jason Lannister stands in front of her. The area where Ben and her would spend their days was far enough away from the castle so that no Lords or Ladies would bother them.
Visenya sits up a little, and Ben stands up, moving behind Visenyas couch. Ben had gained the habit of wearing his armour, not just day-to-day armour but the same chest plate he wore during battle. His hammer hanging on his back and paired with the worn chest plate sent a clear message not to fuck around with him or Visenya.
"I spend most of my days here, Lord Lannister," Visenya tells him, clearly unformable and tired. "Is there something you need?"
"I just wish to see how you are doing. Pregnancy can be such a beautiful yet scary thing," Jason tells her, sitting on the small table in front of Visenya. "I am surprised Prince Aemond has left you alone. If I were the father, I would be spending every second with you before the birth, you know, just in case,"
"Prince Aemond has duties he needs to attend to; Ser Blackwood is keeping me company in his absence," Visenya tells him in a friendly tone, but it is clear that Visenya is in no mood for people today.
"I must wonder if your relationship with the knight is like the one that Ser Harwin-"
"Finish that sentence, and I will kill you," Visenya's kind tone drops as she talks to him. She will not tolerate gossip like that and will not let her child's legitimacy be questioned like her brothers and hers. "Lord Tyrell has been interested in your spot on the small council, and I'm sure in your death, he will gladly take your spot,"
"Princess-"
"I will spare you from my husband's wrath by not telling him what you are implying but remember that kindness because I will not give it to you again if you even utter those ideas again," Visenya tells him, she is too tired to kill the man, but she knows that if Aemond were to find out about what he is implying that Aemond would kill the man in the most brutal way he could think of. "Leave now,"
