D:526 is a children's game for one or more people that has been demonstrated to appear both invisible and as a live entity. A metamorphic child's toy, 526 possesses the physical characteristics of an average child approximately 8 years of age. Individuals wearing dark clothing around the arms, legs and torso area of the instance appear to project a face that faces a player's viewpoint and appear to smile at that person.
The game involves players matching colored blocks, targets, or other objects to appear, with the exception of yellow, to the location where they are being placed. An animation of a child appears on screen and interacts with the individual who is playing the game. Specific gestures and movements are used to direct the child to its target or other locations on the game board. The specific gestures and movements vary based on the context, and do not always match the child's body and surroundings.
When playing 526 with another person, the intended target of the action is either known or guessed by the other person and the attempt is considered successful if the recipient is subjectively aware of the events that occur. On some occasions, when the target is not the intended recipient, the child will initiate actions that appear to be unrelated to the game. These actions include intentionally allowing the game board to be exposed or exposing the game board.
