The Last Fight

Chapter twenty-seven

(Ace's POV)

"Ace, do you remember?" Amy asked me, I quickly shot a blasts fire at Bolt that pushed him back twenty feet. "Yes, I remember everything." I said, "But, how?" Amy asked, "I got hit hard on the head." I said, smiling at Amy. "You guys should probably get out of here, I don't want anyone to get hurt." I said. "Ok, just make sure you come back." Amy said, "Oh, wait. One more thing." I said. I pulled the out the small box I had in my pocket and tossed it to Amy, "Open it." I said, she opened the box and pulled out what was inside. It was a ring with a diamond on it. "Ace, is this....?" Amy asked, "Give me your answer when I come back." I said, "Ok, but I have something to give to you." Amy said. She leaned in closer to me and kissed me, and I kissed back, when we stopped she looked at me at said, "Please make sure you come back Ace." I nodded then she ran to where the others were. "How nice, after I kill you, she's next." Bolt said, "You have to kill me first." I said.

I raised my hand up and the Chaos Emeralds appeared and began circling me, my quills turned bright orange and began flowing upwards. Then a ball of fire began to form around me,

"Skates did the same thing at still lost, do you think you're that much more powerful than him?" Bolt asked mockingly. "Im not done yet." I said, then my body became covered in flames and the ball tripled in size. "Before we start fighting I want to know why you did what you did. Why you split your own power just to try and control me." I said. "Fine, how can I saw no to someone's last wish." Bolt said, then continued. "Since your parents were both weilders of fire you had the potential of becoming more powerful than both of them. So I split my power to try and control you. Once you were fully under the control of darkness I would be able to steal all of your power, however you seemed to develop a resistance to darkness over the years. For a while I thought the only way to bring out the darkness was to make you angry and since I was strong enough with my powers split I received Solaris. He was weakened from when he fought against Sonic, Shadow, and Silver, but still strong enough to kill Crystal. I was hoping that you would become angry enough to release the darkness, but because you had the Chaos Emeralds with you the darkness wasn't released. Then for another year I tried thinking of a plan to get you to become completely controlled by darkness, luckily you and Solaris, or as he was known then; Dark Flame brought the Emeralds of Shadows back into existence. However even then the Emeralds of Shadows didn't work, so I made a deal with Ix, I would bring him back to this universe and he would bring out enough darkness for me to control." "So, you were the person in the hood." I said. "Yes, then when you and the darkness were completely separated I planned to have him kill you and absorb the rest of your power. Luckily for me hen you thought you killed him he was only split into ten pieces, and now I have the power of fire and lightning." Bolt said. "It was you. All of the lives that were lost because of Dark Flame was because of you. Good people like Crystal and Eric." I said angrily. "Yes." He said, "But why what was the point of it all. Why do you want all that power?!" I asked. "Why? Fine I'll tell you." He paused for a moment then continued. "BECAUSE MY FAMILY WAS TAKEN FROM ME!"

"My family died. I couldn't do anything to protect them. They never did anything wrong. They weren't guilty of any crimes and they were killed. My parents, my children and my wife. WHY SHOULD ANYONE ELSE GET TO BE HAPPY! I WILL SHOW THE WORLD WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO LOSE EVERYTHING!" He shouted angrily. "It's not right. What makes them guilty. The people of this world didn't do anything to hurt you. That's why I have go stop you." I said. "DIE TRYING!" He shouted then shot a blast and lightning and black fire at me I stuck out my hand and shot and beam of fire back at him. He moved quickly and kicked me back about a hundred feet I fell onto the road in town. I looked around and saw that everyone was gone, "Good job guys." I said to myself, "What the matter is that all you got!" Bolt shouted at me. He was now flying above me, "I won't lose." I said, "How can you be so sure?" Bolt asked. "I have something that's worth protecting." I said, I flew up quickly and kicked Bolt into the air. He was now directly above me I lifted up both my hands and shot a giant beam of fire at him. He flew up higher and then hit the ground hard, he just lay there not moving and his staff was now broken in half. I grabbed his arm and shouted, "Chaos Control!" We were now far away from the town, "Go ahead kill me." Bolt said. His body was covered in bruises, cuts and burns, "You've suffered enough." I said. "Just for that you're not gonna kill me, you're pathetic." He said, "No, not just that. You've suffered so much, it was only by chance that you ended up like this, it could have just as easily been the other way around." I said. "You think just because of that I'm gonna change." Bolt said, "I wonder what your family would think of now? Do you think they would want anything to do with someone like you?" I asked. Then I used Chaos Control and teleported back, many of the people began coming back. My super form faded away as the people came back, "You're the hero who saved us aren't you?" One of them asked. "Yep. We shouldn't have any more trouble for a while here." I said, then the crowd began cheering. Then I looked past the crowd and saw a familiar pink hedgehogs trying to move through. "Sorry I got to go." I said and I ran past the crowd and picked up Amy, "You're ok." She said happily. "I made a promise didn't I?" I asked smiling at her, "One more thing Ace." She said, "What is it?" I asked. "Yes." She said and kissed me.
