Chapter nineteen: Light and Darkness
(Normal POV)
"But your too late!" Ace shouted, "I don't believe that, the real Ace would never be defeated by darkness." Amy said. Then there was a blinding flash of light, no one could see anything, "Ace would be defeated by me." Someone said. After a few seconds everyone could see again, now Ix was standing beside Ace, "Not only is the darkness controlling Ace, but I am controlling Ace as well." Ix said. "Well, well, well, look who it is. Miss traitor in the flesh." Ix said to Shade, "You're wrong, you lied to all of us." Shade said angrily. Then onet of the solders ran over to where Ix was, "Lord Ix, we have found the last Emerald of Shadow." He said. "Good, and the Master Emerald?" Ix asked, "Already back on Nocturnus." He said, "The Master Emerald doesn't belong to you, if you don't return it I will take it by force!" Knuckles shouted angrily. "I don't have time for this, come Ace, we shall let the solders handle this." Ix said, Ace didn't move. "Ace, let's go." Ix said again, with a slightly angry tone, "You don't control me anymore." Ace said.
"What did you just say?" Ix asked, Ace's quills turned back to their normal colour, "I'm not your puppet." Ace said and punched Ix across the face. He fell to the ground and quickly got up, "You can't control me again, you have no way of getting into my head." Ace said. "You still have no way of stopping me go ahead and try." Ix said, then he and the solders disappeared. "Ace?" Amy asked slowly walking towards him, he didn't move, he just stared at the ground, "Dpu you know?" He asked. "About what happened when you were a kid, yes." Amy said, he began walking away, but was quickly stopped. "I don't care about that Ace, you're still you." Amy said, "Yeah, that's the problem, I'm still cursed." Ace said. "This doesn't change anything, you're still the man who saved my life many times. You're still the one I love." Amy said. Ace pulled her into a hug, "Thank you." Ace said. "Do we have time for this, Ix is going to try and take over the world." Shadow said, a bit annoyed. "How, we don't have the Chaos Emeralds?" Tails asked, "We can split into teams, one team will try and stop the Nocturnus solders and the others will look for the emeralds and catch up with team one." Skates said.
