The early signs of the rainy season coming to an end were starting to take hold. The torrential squalls and monsoons happened far less often as the desert was lush with verdant greenery. The jungle itself carried a thin morning mist as rain droplets fell from the lush leafy canopies. That morning the sound of sparring could be heard as Lumine and Xiao both clashed smiles of delight as they trained, trying to whip the young blonde goddess back into shape after close to a year of being kept off conflicts as much as possible. On the banks Paimon was sitting watching with Hermes and Aquila by the tiny twin yakshas.
"I think that's enough for today, Lumine. You're still recovering, no need to push yourself too much right now."Xiao stated calmly at seeing how out of breath his beloved was. Her stamina was not quite back up to where he was used to seeing. Lack of sleep and the stressful, long labor last week had left her taking longer to recover then she usually did. To be fair even Xiao was feeling that fatigue as tiny Solis and Vesperus kept him on his toes.
"You may have a point. But I felt restless seeing my swordsmanship get rusty."sighed Lumine as she tossed her sword over her shoulder for it to vanish into golden light. Out of habit Xiao gave his polearm a toss and a kick so it landed not far away, jade colored blade in the earth.
"I know so."assured Xiao as Aquila flew over with a chirp to perch on his shoulder. The little bird familiar ruffled its feathers while Hermes twirled, around the sleeping infants before vanishing inside its container. The young yaksha walked over to carefully grab the sling and put Vesperus in it. His week old son yawned and fidgeted his fuzzy wings before snuggling into his warm.
"Gah?"Solis blinked looking up as she felt her mother do the same. Her brother seemed to sleep a lot more when it was very bright out. The little sun goddess never understood why he did, her sunlight was warm and made everything pretty. But her brother had been cranky and not feeling well until not long ago. She was just a tiny newborn goddess and yakshini but she wasn't a fool. The day of her arrival something had happened to brother moon, something that distressed her mama and papa. She just wasn't sure what it was as she reached up with her chubby little hand to pat her mother's chest with a soft coo.
"Nalini, you just ate."chuckled Lumine before her own stomach growled while Nalini pouted. Darn the fact she was too little yet to speak yet.
"Paimon heard that. How about we go grab some lunch? Port Ormos isn't far away."suggested the fairy.
"Sure, I wanted to hit the market there anyways, Solis and Nalini are already outgrowing some of their clothes."nodded Lumine.
"Hmm...don't see the harm in it. We can eat at the lounge or stalls there."agreed Xiao as he put their belongings back into their dimensional storage. Lumine in kind putting the basket cradle away. So away they went along the way they stumbled upon a billboard with advertising for a fungi fight tournament being held in the town of Port Ormos. The girls were apprehensive but Xiao suggested that they check it out after they had lunch and Xiao would go handle the shopping and meet them at the tournament. So their game plan of action they went into the port town.
