A/N: Baizhu quest conclusion; Baizhu, Lumine, and Vesperus leave find Jialiang's missing wife despite the consequences. After the events, Baizhu's condition begins to act up. At Xiaolumi's insistence, Baizhu and Changsheng stay with the family in their home within the teapot so he may rest; Baizhu hears an oddly nostalgic, ancient melody late into the night.

So it had come to this.

Baizhu had practically scared and worried Lumine silly but a small reassuring smile from her son and his assurance calmed her nerves. Her son had been returned to her by Xiao not long after they reached the gates. Lumine had never seen Vesperus like this, being so serious and stoic as they had waited. Her son had always been soft spoken, quiet, and calm the complete opposite of his boisterous twin. He was behaving less like an innocent child and far older, way beyond his age. Like a being almost as ancient as Teyvet itself...which may not be too far from truth if everyone's assumptions of him were true of being one of the moon sisters reborn. She was seeing sides of her frail little boy she protected so furiously that she never saw before.

Eventually Baizhu and Changsheng did emerge. The good doctor looked unwell again even after having woken up after passing out after Jialiang had been taken out of the treatment room. However during their conversations Jialiang had overheard everything. He insisted on helping even with Vesperus and Baizhu and even Lumine's reminder doing so could get him killed. So conceding they took the herb gatherer with them and let him take the lead, which soon took them to a stream and near it a cave that was clearly man made.

Lumine stole a glance and sensed a familiar presence. A tingle in the back of her mind she let in, "Let Vesperus handle what he must. Do not interfere, only witness. If you and Baizhu can't handle this I'll be forced to intervene, Lumen."came his firm but gentle warning in the back of her mind. Slowly she nodded as she followed them into the cavern as they followed Jialiang, talking all the while. Slowly she gave a firm nod of understanding. But confusion remained as she thought, "And what is it our son has to do?"

Silence hanged for a moment before she felt like she was mentally being embraced in his warmth and reassurance. She was not sure but it felt like their union that night on their anniversary had strengthened the soul bond even tighter. Nothing anymore left to secret or to be hidden as his gentle reply came to echo like a soft breeze catching her soul, "You will witness and see, my dear little guiding star." Then silence. Witness what? She was not sure as suddenly Paimon waved her hand in front of her face.
