Giving in to Temptation

Chapter 12

"Gotta get to class now, I'll be back to walk you to your next one." Hope says giving Josie a quick hug before she speed walks to the exit hall.

Josie smiles happily watching the auburnette exit, 'I wish both hugs would have lasted longer.' She thinks doing a small spin as she walks to her classroom.

She opens the door and she's pleased to see a few students in there sitting at their desks waiting.They are all in their own scrubs like Josie, each of them have different colors but she's glad she stands out, although she's never been much for attention, it feels good to be at the center of it for once.

She takes her seat and shortly after, her professor walks into the room."Good afternoon class." He says once he enters.

He looks around and released a pleased sound when he noticed that everyone is in their scrubs."You all look like respectable medical staff members, follow me."

Everyone stands and follows him out the door. Josie leaves everything at her desk except for her phone.

When they catch up to him he leads them to a patient room. He then turns around to face them."It is official, today you will be getting graded on everything. So please act like you are medical staff members because this will determine whether or not you will actually become one."

One of the students raised their hand and Vardemus sighs,"Yes Daniel?"

"Are we still being split up?" He asks.

"Yes," he then opens his bag,"After I give you your pagers." He says pulling a few of them out.

He hands some to the students that were in the front who passed them back. Once everyone has one he smiles,"Now I will split you up. Your supervisors already have your I.D cards. You will attach it to the chest pocket on your scrubs. I gave it to them so they can memorize your names."

Josie puts her pager in her pocket and made sure it was easy to reach,'this is so cool. I can't wait to tell mom.'

He then closes his bag and looked at his students."Okay group A is Daniel,Sean,Veronica and Josie. Group B will be, Isabell, Destiny, James, and Michael."

Everyone looks at their fellow classmates while Vardemus opens the patient room."Group A you will be in here and your supervisor will meet you here in a few minutes, remember they report to me about everything." He says leaving those students to take group b to a different room.

Josie walked into the room first because everyone else was just standing there acting like zombies.

When she gets inside everyone else decided to follow her. She looked at the  the hospital bed, the i.v systems pole, the heart monitors; etc. 'this feels so familiar.' Josie thinks and smiles to herself.

The other students do the same thing, just observing the room, except for Daniel. He picks up the metal bedpan that patients use to go to the restroom when they aren't mobile.

"Hey we aren't supposed to touch anything." Josie says when she watches him put it on his head, 'so immature and disgusting.' She thinks while everyone else laughs at him.

The door opens and everyone stops laughing, Josie smiles brightly though when she sees who walked inside.

"You must be..Daniel." Elena says handing him his i.d card that she pulled out of the small stack that was in her pocket.

She's wearing light blue scrubs and her hair is in a high ponytail. Josie smiles softly at her appearance, 'her hair was shorter the last time I saw her.' She thinks because the last time she saw the woman was Christmas last year.
