Long chapter here because of the wait 😅

(In Josies room)

Josie is buttoning up her black floral long sleeve top when she heard her phone ringing.

She walked over to her dresser picking it up and using her shoulder to hold it to her ear so she can continue buttoning up her shirt."Hey mom." She greets softly.

"Hi josie, how are you?" She asks putting her pen down so she can focus on their conversation.

Josie finished up with the last button before she slipped on some faded black ripped jeans."I'm okay mom. I know you're calling to check on me because of yesterday." She replies knowingly.

"And I'm caught red handed." Caroline says through a sigh,"but seriously Jo, how are you feeling now?"

Josie zipped up her fly and fell onto her bed, putting her phone on speaker now,"I'm actually good," her mouth twisting and turning as she thinks of a way to explain,"better than good. My mourning process was a lot better this time around, I'm pretty sure I have hope to thank for that."

Her mother perks up after hearing that."Um excuse me? Is that the girl you wouldn't name? I had to get it out of Elena. But oh my gosh keep talking what happened?" She asks excitedly.

Josie rolls her eyes, she knew Elena was gossiping to her mom about it."Yes mom, that's her and nothing happened," she paused to think about what just happened between the two only ten minutes ago.

Hope's flushed face, the strain in her muscles, the goosebumps on her skin, and the veins in her neck when she released that unrestrained moan.

"Josie? Josie? Jo?" She finally tuned into her mother's voice.

She cleared her throat, her cheeks pink, probably from embarrassment."Yeah I'm here mom." She stands to grab her lip balm and apply it to her lips.

Caroline chuckled,"Something happened." She sighs on the phone thinking about the brunette,"I'm glad you have her. Your father said he's doing alright by himself but Damon says otherwise so he's been there."

"Is he okay?" Josie asks worriedly, she hasn't checked on him because he hates crying in front of his daughters.

"Yeah he will be fine. He's thinking about visiting you guys, you and Lizzie should call him when you guys can, I think he's feeling lonely again."

Josie knew it would happen sooner or later. It's almost the end of the semester, October starts next month and their thanksgiving break is coming up so she will text her father once she figures out what she's going to do during that time.

She's pretty sure she's going to two thanksgivings this year now that Hope is in the picture.

"I'll give him a call soon," she reached into her sock drawer and slid some on,"but speaking of visits, you are going to be here for the holidays right?" She asks getting to her feet to put on her shoes."Lizzie and I really miss you mom." She adds.

The blonde woman lets a small smile find her lips,"I will definitely be there for thanksgiving sweetheart. I pulled some strings because I miss you guys too..." she then sighs,"I'm still working on getting Christmas cleared though, I'll know more as the holiday approaches."
