Giving in to Temptation

Chapter 20

(Next morning)

Josie turns her body trying to get comfortable but that's a little hard because she's freezing.

She groans when moving her arm in a random direction, when she realized her main source of warmth was gone, she slowly opens her eyes just to see her for herself.

She rubs the sleep out of her eyes and sat up. There was an empty space in her bed so she looked around the room. 'Where did she go?'

She glanced at her dresser near her bed and picked up her phone to check the time. 7:00 am

She sighs thinking about how early it is and went through her messages. She has a couple from Cleo, one from her mom, another from Lizzie, and one from Hope which is the one she decided to open first.

Hope: I went out for a jog this morning to think about some things. I won't be back in time to walk you to class but I will definitely pick you up. See you later jo bear <3

A small smile finds her lips and she got out of bed to get ready for the day.

She takes a shower and puts on the burgundy scrubs. 'I can't believe I'm going out with hope today!!' She thinks as she curls her hair.

A small pout forms right after,'Kind of. Maybe on the date I can just tell her I mean a real date not a friend date. Ughh that's not going to work.'

She brushed her teeth, slid on some comfortable shoes, and put on her dangling star earrings that compliment the whole look.

She grabs some of her cherry lip balm, she rubs her lips together before she puts it away and takes a look at herself in the mirror. 'Looks..check. All I have to do is flirt with her on this friend date. Shouldn't be too hard now, I swear she's been flirting with me too. Hopefully she does on this date so I don't look stupid.'

She grabbed her backpack after putting a change of clothes in there for later in case she wants to get out of her scrubs before leaving the suite.

She's glad that she only has one class today, she's pretty sure Hope does too. It's very convenient that her and Hope have a similar schedule, she's actually really happy about that.

'I need some coffee.' She thinks when she gets to the lobby. When she gets to the cafeteria, she walks right up to the male worker at the counter, happy that there isn't a line. "Hi, can I get the caramel macchiato please."

He nods,"Sure thing, that will be five dollars."

'A little pricey but it's always worth it.' She thinks pulling out her little wallet, ready to pay.

"Let me pay for that."

She turns around and sees Finch handing the worker a five dollar bill. "Oh you don't have too." She says trying to grab her money.

Finch stops her,"I got it." She gives the worker a look and he takes the bill from her."I'll be right back with your drink."

Finch smiles before she turns to face Josie."You didn't have to pay for that," she says putting away her wallet.

Finch shrugs,"Eh it's nothing. You look very beautiful by the way." She says admiring the brunettes uniform.

Josie blushed slightly at the obvious staring, she turned toward the counter, where the worker returned with her coffee and accepted the beverage.
