Giving in to Temptation

Chapter 37

"Alright operation look for Josie is a go." Mg says rubbing his temples in thought.

"Mg how could you lose her?!" Ethan asks.

"She said she had to use the bathroom. I didn't think she would actually get lost." He says explaining himself.

"Alright." Lizzie says stopping an incoming argument. She then looked at the squad,"Mg you're with me, we are going to look on the third floor. I pray she isn't up there but we should check."

Hope frowned immediately at the thought and she couldn't keep her mouth shut,"I should go with you guys too." She says and all eyes go to her.

Lizzie smiles and Hope rolls her eyes before she continued,"to see if she's okay, we should all split up."

Lizzie hummed in thought before responding,"Good idea shortcake. Mg and I third floor, Ethan and Landon this floor, Alyssa and Jed check outside, Cleo and Jen got the basement, and Hope," she says smiling at the girl even more."You get to check the first floor," Hope sighs and a complaint was on her tongue but Lizzie didn't let her talk "Meeting adjourned." She says dismissing everyone.

"Why do we have to look?" Alyssa asks, when everyone else dispersed from the group.

Lizzie gave the girl a dirty look and Mg stepped in knowing she was about to say something reckless,"Because you're a squad member now. We look out for each other."

Alyssa groaned but shrugged,"Alright let's go." She says taking Jed's hand and walking into a different direction.

Hope was going to go head toward the area she was assigned to check but changed her mind so when she got outside the game room, she made a left to go upstairs instead of downstairs.

She climbed about two stairs before she felt a hand wrap around her wrist, and her fight or flight instincts were about to kick in."where do you think you're going shorty?"

Hope sighs when she figured out who it was. Lizzie released her hand,"I'm looking for jo."

"Nice try. Mg and I got the third floor," she says gesturing to the man next to her who's watching the auburnette carefully."you got the first one."

Hope bites her bottom lip, looking upstairs before her eyes go back to them,"We should switch." She suggests,"I could check the rooms faster."

Lizzie gives the girl a look and Hope blushed under her gaze,"What?"she asks.

Lizzie tuts as she thinks of something, she grabbed the girl's hand again and pulled her toward the stairs that lead to the first floor,"If jo is officially drunk, she might be dancing downstairs. Trust me jo is not herself when she's drunk." She says giving the girl a small push.

Hope stumbled slightly because she's really buzzed but she caught her balance, looking behind her she sees Mg and Lizzie walking up the second floor stairs.

She groans but gives up on her advances to go there and she continued to go downstairs.

When she makes it down she realized that the music had gotten louder. She hates it because there's more people dancing and she can't really see past the sea of bodies.

She pushes through anyway, keeping her eyes open for a tall brunette. She narrowed her eyes when she saw a brunette but rolled them when she saw that it was just Penelope.

She's released a deep breath though when she noticed Josie wasn't with her.

That may or may not also be the reason why she wanted to check the third floor.

"Have you seen Josie?" She decides to ask because it seems almost impossible to try and find her by herself with this many people around.

Penelope shrugs but continues dancing,"Maybe."
