A burst of exhilarated laughter flowed from Poppy's lips as bliss bloomed like a red tulip inside the center of her rising and falling chest. Her body was drunk on contentment while her brain was wrapped in a mist cloud of fuzzy joy and nausea. Goosebumps rose on her cold arms like white petalled daisies in spring. She felt nebulous with warmth.

"Shhh..." Gavin chuckled but couldn't help it as laughter bubbled within him, making his chest vibrate upon seeing Poppy on the concrete tiled pavement. "Poppy, the whole street is gonna hear us."

His inebriated laughter only made Dargie guffaw harder. It was sweetly contagious and spread throughout her body like blood through aegean veins. Her laughter made her sides ache in ecstasy as her eyes squeezed shut and her eyelashes brushed her roseate cheeks.

Pepper-coloured cigarette ash that dusted the ground like pixie dust pressed against the black jumpsuit she was wearing. It imprinted into the fabric but she was blind to the accidental ash that powered her outfit as she was consumed by amusement.

It felt like she was choking as tears of ebullience rolled down her beauteous complexion. She attempted to exhale a breath and inhale a clean one to calm herself down.

It momentarily worked before it resumed once again.

"It's too late." Gaz chuckled as he drunkenly staggered forward on his feet beside another friend of theirs, Charlie. "You've woken the whole street up."

Lamp posts beamed down on the pavement below like a bright stage light. It was like the street was a stage for them and the flats and the people in them were at the pantomime, watching these drunken soldiers laugh their heads off.

"I'm s-sorry," she blurted while laying on the pavement. "I can't help it." She turned her head and stared up at Gavin with an instinctive smile. "Stop making me laugh or I'm gonna piss myself."

"You're the one lying on the ground, babe."

Poppy merely grinned as her brown hair pooled around her head like an inky puddle.

Gavin couldn't help but return that dazzling grin as he sluggishly sauntered over to his supine girlfriend on the ground. As he neared, he leaned over and outstretched his muscly arms out towards her and offered his callus palms for Poppy to grab.

Sitting up, she lifted her hands from her sides and grasped his hands within her own, threading their fingers together. With a tug, Gavin helped her stand up straight and steady her.
