"Ghost, we're in."
Alejandro's modulated voice came over the silent wind that flowed by Simon who was lying prone on the ground. The colonel's tone was composed and optimistic as he audibly informed the lieutenant about their successful free roam of the villa grounds.
Vargas had gotten to Soap and swapped places with the previous cartel guard, giving the Scotsman a balaclava to hide his identity, wireless comms and a knife.
"What've you got?" Lieutenant Riley inquired while peering down the scope of his sniper rifle.
"El Sin Nombre is in the penthouse," Sergeant MacTavish notified. "Third floor."
"Elevator is a straight shot," Alejandro said, sauntering down the hallway. The sound of his footsteps resounded around them when his soles came in contact with the polished floor. "We just need Diego's key card."
"Where's Diego?"
"The ofrenda," Colonel Vargas responded. "Second floor."
Simon was solemnly ruminative as he moved his nimble gloved index finger on the trigger guard. He scanned the exterior of the property and the cartel guards that patrolled the surrounding verdure area. His thoughts wandered instinctively to the sergeant with the brown hair and jade irises.
He hadn't heard her sweet voice through comms for a while now. He missed it dearly. He hadn't seen her walk by the transparent pristine glass windows in the villa. He hadn't seen any movement in the three-story building that signalled that it was her.
He refrained from worrying because he knew that she could handle herself.
"Where is Dargie?" Simon questioned earnestly.
"Valeria took her up to the penthouse," MacTavish said unwaveringly. "The sicaria is suspicious... Simon, me and Alejandro need to be vigilant and quick about this, El Sin Nombre is in that penthouse."
The lieutenant's grip tightened around the belly of the sniper at this new revelation.
He didn't want to think about what the hitwoman or El Sin Nombre himself would do to Poppy if they expanded on these suspicions and figured out that she was in the mountains too, a few days ago.
"If you can scout a way to the roof, there's access to the penthouse," Simon informed Soap. "Or you can get the key card from Diego in the ofrenda."
