Simon and Poppy stood in front of the affable officiant, staring into each other's eyes lovingly while holding hands, fingers threaded together perfectly. Soothingly, Simon sailed the pad of his thumbs across her knuckles in a continuous paradigm, salty tears burning his eyes.

When he set eyes on her and watched her walk down that flower-blanketed aisle-courtesy of Alba-his eyes glazed over with tears, turning into smooth glass. He refrained from letting his bottom lip quiver at the gorgeous sight of her in her white silky wedding dress.

It was a floor-length dress that trailed behind her on the glossy tiled floor. It wasn't a puffy dress with multiple layers like the ones you see in those Disney movies but one that draped down her figure and hugged her body in the right places. It wasn't constricting or suffocating but comfortable and breathable. It had off-shoulder silk straps that were positioned at her upper biceps.

The front of the dress dipped into a V-shape that showed an appropriate amount of her cleavage while her satiny hair poured over her shoulders, partly hiding the tattoo of Alba's date of birth above her collarbone.  Her dark hair was coiffed into a straightforward wavy style while light makeup caked her countenance.

Her sheer lacy veil was clipped prudently in her hair, billowing down her clad spine to the back of her knees.

Simon wore a crisp white ironed shirt under his black unbuttoned blazer with a matching tie. The collar was folded over neatly while trousers wrapped around his legs. His copper hair was handsomely coiffed and the familiar smell of his men's cologne and aftershave was a comforting serenity that had her smiling up at him.

The officiant paused briefly when Alba started babbling to her uncles Gaz and Soap. She sat between both men, dropping the remaining petals of frail flowers from her woven basket into their splayed-out palms. They gently shushed the toddler as she had disturbed the ceremony.

A few chuckles of amusement echoed throughout the room, Simon and Poppy joining in. Alba merely looked confused at why everyone was laughing but went quiet; inspecting the different coloured petals with curiosity.

With the bride and groom having read their heartfelt vows to one another already, the officiant resumed speaking diligently with a grin of merriment on his lips. "Simon, do you take Poppy to be your wedded wife, to promise to love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, to have and to hold, from this day forward, as long as you both shall live?"

"I do," he instantly responded, watching a blissful tear the shape of an ocean pearl roll down Poppy's cheek.

The officiant faced her and gave a warm smile. "Poppy, do you take Simon to be your wedded husband, to promise to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, to have and to hold, from this day forward, as long as you both shall live?"
