A tremulous breath left Poppy's quivering lips as she tightened her grasp on her pistol with a simmering determination and persistence.

Adrenaline flowed through her warm blood and crawled over her skin like wildfire goosebumps. Her jaw visibly clenched as she felt a sliver of blood roll down her cheek and disappear over her jaw like a raindrop down a windowpane.

Her face was dissolved of any jovial emotion. Her expression was sober and unsmiling as she held her handgun with dexterous hands. The sergeant's arms remained steady and straight while her steps were cautious as she sluggishly advanced forward.

She did not avert her attentive gaze from Hassan Zyani, who was furiously glaring at her and the three men around her.

The small laceration she had received on her cheek from an armed cartel member was presently stinging. It felt like someone had sprinkled a pinch of salt in her cut and it was burning her sliced flesh.

When she had entered the sizable room, one of Hassan's armed guards had pistol-whipped her across the face. The immediate pang of pain that struck her cheek resulted in Dargie dropping her semi-automatic rifle to the carpeted floor beneath her feet.

Expeditious, she had unholstered her pistol from her kevlar thigh holster and took aim. He didn't have time to react as she shot him in the face with fast reflexes. His body proceeded to fall to the floor with a resounding thud before going motionless.

The trio: Alejandro, Soap and Ghost rushed into the room, eliminating any remaining narcos that were encircling and protecting Hassan. Corpses slumped to the floor while vermillion puddles formed around them.

Poppy had yet to gather her rifle from the ground as she side stepped over a body.

"Get down!" Sergeant MacTavish yelled, pointing his weapon at Zyani.

"Get down!" Alejandro shouted. "Now!"

"Who the fuck are you?" Hassan demanded.

His inquiry was momentarily ignored by the soldiers in the room. Colonel Vargas kept his firearm situated on Hassan as he crossed the room. He walked up behind the major, forcing him harshly to the ground, making him groan.

"Mexican Special Forces," Alejandro responded earnestly, placing Hassan's hands behind his back. "You're coming with us."

"Shadow-1, Bravo 0-7. Jackpot," Lieutenant Riley informed Commander Graves. "I say again, jackpot. Target is secure."
