Simon watched Poppy attentively, his gaze on the side of her face that was visible to him. Her eyebrows were vaguely knitted together in thoughtful concentration. Stray strands of her brown hair hung loosely out of her sight as she fiddled with a pen in her left hand.

Her free hand was situated on the surface of the table that she was leaning over. She was reading over lines of valuable information on Valeria that she had appreciatively gotten from Laswell.

Kate was more than happy to get the information that Sergeant Dargie needed on El Sin Nombre.

The lieutenant's hold on his kevlar vest tightened, causing the thick material to strain at his grasp. He exhaled and flicked his intense brown eyes away from her. He found her beautifully attractive when she was engrossed in her work, unaware of what she was doing to him.

She was an enchantress who didn't need to put a spell on him for her to be captivating to him. He had seen her polished heart of gold and her striking beauty. He saw no flaw or blemish in her. Her soul was wrapped in kindness and when she looked at him, bliss was all he saw in her green irises.

Poppy made him happy, so incredibly content.

"Valeria Garza..." Her soft voice had him turning his attention back to her. Her back was still facing him as she read over the information she had written down in cursive handwriting. Simon slowly approached as she continued. "Get this, she served alongside Alejandro and Rodolfo in the Mexican Special Forces."

"How long?" Ghost inquired.

"She joined around the same time as them and along the way, she met Alejandro and well..." she trailed off, glancing back at Simon. Noticing how intimately close they were, she cleared her throat and continued. "They became romantically involved though it only lasted a few years before it abruptly ended."

The lieutenant faintly smirked under his skull balaclava upon seeing what he did to her.

He noticed the way her breathing picked up and the way her chest rose and fell as he neared. He knew her muscular heart was racing because his heart was too. The sound of his heart beating was ringing in his ears as he locked eyes with the sergeant.

Poppy's skin was warm and tingly under his heated stare. It made her move towards him, desperate to feel his muscular arms around her waist and feel his gloved palms on her lower back. She desired to kiss him tenderly but also hungrily. She wanted to be smiling despite trying to catch her breath.
