The next day Andrew was not at the college. At least, Elena hadn't seen him. Not that she looked for him, of course. It's just that when Ledger was present at the alma mater, even the students behave more quietly, as if afraid of something. She bumped into his friend Nathan in the cafeteria, and he said that on Wednesdays Ledger stayed at home.

Elena, not to waste her time, dialed Andrew. In case he would intentionally forget about their class again. But the guy, in his usual lazy tone, with a slight half-smirk on his lips, which the teacher heard in the male's voice, confirmed that he just longed for the class.

He longs for it. Hah. Elena was not longing - if she could have, she would have refused, but she had to admit that she was interested: would she be able to make a good man out of him in the end or not.

After class, the old Daewoo, finally returned to the girl from the service station, headed for Ledger's address. As Elena drove past the parking lot, Nate with some girl caught her eye. Elena had seen her several times in the hallways of the university. The guy was smiling broadly and telling her something animatedly.

She wondered what two people as different as Nathan and Andrew might have in common. Could a clear cloud and a black stormy sky exist in the same space? No, of course, and Nathan was no saint. He turned a blind eye to all his friend's antics. And he also participated in locking his teacher in the classroom at the time, but in spite of all that, his eyes remained kind. He always said hello and wasn't rude, unlike his friend.

In the girl's purse the phone came to life. Holding the steering wheel with one hand, Elena fumbled for the smartphone and brought it to her face. Irene was smiling at her from the screen. Her another best friend.

"Hi"

A smile immediately spread on her lips.

Elena loved that girl. They had been friends since freshman year. Their "holy trinity" was known to almost everyone. The girls managed to study, relax in the bathhouse, shoot pool, and graduate with honors. The three of them would probably have grown old that way, if not for the accident...

"Hi, my beauty. You've given up on me. You don't call. I bet you've already made new friends among the students, huh?" Irene mumbled in a fake offended tone.

"And what should I discuss with them? Students or footballers?"

"I don't know, you tell me. Maybe the professors. Are there any attractive men out there? If so, I'm coming to work there, too."

Elena laughed.

"Do you want older or more athletic?"

"Describe both"

"One is eighty, the other thinks he's Apollo, but in fact he's Shrek"

"Very funny" Snorted Irene. "I do not need such wealth. I do not know where to get away from my Shreks" Came the sound of laughter, and then her friend added "Hey, why don't we get together this weekend? How about Saturday at our favorite Blitz?"

"Ok" Elena replied and passed through the gate to the Ledgers' kingdom. "I need to relax, too"

"Yay! I thought you would refuse, saying, you work now, no time"

"I can find one night a week for my friend"

"That's my girl. Okay, the chief's coming. I'm leaving. Kisses, honey. See you later"

"Bye"

Elena dropped the call, still smiling. She had forgotten that she had been a student herself only a short while ago. And not the quietest.
