"So, Elena, tell me at least about your first days at the new workplace? " Ira asked, not taking her gaze off the ball she was aiming to hit.

Elena went back to the table and after sipping a small sip of beer returned to her friend. It seemed that a friend was going to make a series of strikes and catch up with her in the score.

"Well, how to tell. To be completely honest, I'd rather work for a translation company" Elena admitted.

Andrew and Stas just approached their table, but because Elena was standing with her back to them, the guys went unnoticed. Ledger put his finger to his lips, gesturing to his friend to play, but not to talk.

"I still don't understand why you had to work in some college. You could have been sitting in the office, drinking coffee, and translating texts in Spanish" Ira straightened up and walked around the table, looking for the best place to hit.

"Some?" Elena sniggered. "Not some, my dear, but one of the most prestigious in the capital. And I'm just incredibly lucky that Mr. Lee was able to get me in".

"I understand that. But what's wrong with translations? It's a profitable job. I am planning to go to one of the good firms. I can take you with me. "

Elena smiled.

"Believe me, if I had a choice between even a not-so-good firm and a college, I would choose a translation job. Even with lower pay. But... only if there was a choice. And you know there isn't. If my certificate of employment included a place like this college, maybe my chances would increase".

Andrew squinted, listening to the conversation. He wondered what Elena was talking about? He didn't even care that Stas had already scored five balls.

"God willing. Did you get all the papers? " The blonde missed, and Elena, taking a closer look at the remaining balls, rubbed chalk on the tip of the cue and walked around the table.

"Almost. I think I'll be able to bring them in a week or two"

"Oh great, I wish this would all be resolved sooner. In fact, such things are solved even faster if you're married, Elena. Think about it".

Elena didn't answer. She had already considered this option, but let it remain for a last resort. She leaned over the table, taking aim, when suddenly a familiar voice, full of excitement, sounded a few meters away from her:

"Look who's here, Stas!"

Elena looked up sharply and felt her body go into a stupor and her feet grow into the floor. Right next to the next table, folding his arms across his chest, stood Andrew and smirked. Next to him was another student - Stas Lake, a friend of Ledger.

" Hello, Miss Narrell, what a coincidence" Sang the guy, spreading his hands. "I didn't think you could be found in a place like this".

Elena's gaze traveled over Andrew, and memory slipped as if on purpose last night's scene, how he pressed her into himself.

Watching Elena's reaction, Ledger remembered the same thing. All day he tried not to think about the teacher and not to look for this beautiful viper in the college.

He knew he was going to come here and see her. He was getting ready, and now he walked up and something tiny exploded inside. It was a strange sensation. Every time she was near him, something in him began to heat up. As if a piece of rebar was held over the fire. As long as it was a few meters away, you could control the temperature, but as soon as you got closer, the molecules began to move more actively, heating it to the melting point.

Slightly confused, bewildered, Elena decided not to answer. And what was there to answer? That it was the only place in town where she could relax and be herself, and now Ledger took away her abode of tranquility? Why? How could it be that there were twenty billiard clubs around the city, no less, and he was brought here? Do the devils give him clues as to where to find her?
