" I don't know how you did it, but thanks, bro, for Cahlon".

The next morning before classes, Nate shook Ledger's hand and clapped him on the shoulder.

"Mia is finally not afraid to go to college".

Andrew unpacked a packet of toothpicks and popped one in his mouth. He shrugged.

"That's good. We'll talk to another brother and then everything will be fine. Bring him to me after classes".

"Ok".

Nathan grinned contentedly. For a couple of weeks now Andrew did not take anyone to the "negotiation room". He was away all the time. In the evenings, he hung out somewhere, ignoring the clubs and the track. Some friends were already asking about him, but Nate never told anyone about his guesses. He saw how Ledger and Miss Narrell looked at each other, when they thought no one noticed. He saw it and kept quiet.

Why prying into a friend's soul when, by all signs, he's finally happy? No unreasonable breakdowns, fights, or sex with the first whores he could find. No, Ledger could still nail in the corner those who he thought were outside the rules he himself had established, but his friend had become... more humane, or something like that. Nathan liked this change, so it was better to remain silent. If Andy felt it necessary, he would tell him himself.

" Good morning, Miss Narrell" Came the cheerful murmur of the students from behind the guys.

Both of them turned around. Andrew did not notice how he smiled. Tonight Elena slept at her place, because her mother was supposed to come to visit in the morning. And he had time to miss her.

He had already gotten into the habit of waking up together, and he didn't like not finding Elena in bed in the morning.

Andrew Andrei gave his Elena a possessive look. Her long hair fluttered in the wind, she changed her cardigan for a light black coat, making her graceful figure even slimmer visually. High-heeled boots tight around her ankles. Fuck, Ledger's mouth was dry from the way she looked. His pulse raced forward, and that red lipstick on her lips made him want to eat it up. The guys around them whispered, talking obviously not about Elena's perfect knowledge of the language. Even the freshmen were playing eyebrows to each other, conveying their vulgar thoughts without words. Jerks.

Andrew forcefully suppressed the desire to punch each in the face. The faces of the cretins read far from innocent fantasies, and the drool dripping from their mouths could eradicate drought in Africa.

"Good morning!" Nate nodded to the passing teacher.

"Good morning"

Elena swiped at him with a polite look, and then met her eyes with Andrew.

"Morning, Miss Narrell"

"Hello, Andrew"

For a few brief seconds their gazes hovered on each other, sizzling with veiled passion. God, there was a whole palette of emotions in Andrew's dark eyes. Elena had learned to understand and read each one. She even caught a searing jealousy, and it made her smile faintly. Only a few seconds, and the couple managed to communicate in a language only they understood.

No one paid attention to their visual dialogue, except Nathan. A moment was all he needed to notice how his friend's features softened as soon as Elena appeared. How he teasingly flipped a toothpick from one corner of his mouth to the other, and how the teacher's gaze followed this action of his.

It seemed to Nate that he was trespassing, so he tactfully turned away, still smiling. Who would have thought that this couple would find common ground, and it looked like they would find more than one.
