As David and Aiden arrived with Daniel in tow they left him to be prepared for the ceremony by the Tribe Elders. The two gave him one last look of encouragement before leaving to take their seat, Daniel took a deep breath as he kneeled before the elders, and two added the war paint to his bare skin while another approached him.
"Greetings young werewolf", the man greeted.
"Tribe Elder", Daniel responded.
"I take it you have made your necessary preparations for this moment", he asked.
"I am ready", Daniel told him.
"We shall see", the elder told him as he went off to announce to the crowd that the trial would be starting in a few.
As Daniel sat mulling over the recent lessons he began to think of his center allowing no distractions, he sniffed the air smelling the incense of the fire that licked at the old stump which the battle was to take place for. He also noted two new persons arriving and realized that it was Chloe, Ellie, and Mei. He didn't bother waving to them as he focused his energy, but due to his sense of smell and ability to pick up on those who were in the vicinity as well, he smelled the familiar fragrance of a certain hunter who was no doubt watching with worry for what was to come.
"Andrea", he commented softly.
Soon enough the drumming intensified and the wind started blowing even harder, Daniel wasn't sure if werewolves affected the weather. Still, he could bet any money that mother nature was present for this as well.
And just as the drumming had begun it ceased, complete silence.
"LET THE TRIAL COMMENCE!", the elder shouted.
Daniel stood, ready to confront his adversary. David and Aiden told him not to worry about his opponent as most times they would give the challenger someone close to their level and only rarely would the test be unfair in terms of who he fought.
"With all that said, why do I feel so uneasy", Daniel wondered.
A sound came from within the forest chains jangling, everyone but the Elders seemed to be on edge but it was Daniel who was the first to spot those terrible eyes
