SACRED GROUNDS

Mathuma proved to be just as big of a challenge now as he was then and Daniel began having second thoughts about this but knew the only way out of this would be to fight his way out of the mess he started. The large epsilon swung its gargantuan arms wildly but it was smart enough to keep pressuring Daniel forcing him backward and almost smashing Daniel's head into the stone wall if not for Daniel's quick wit. The young beta finally got some breathing room as Mathuma continued to stalk him, by now his pack had arrived but they couldn't interfere lest they anger the sacred spirits.

"He's still in one piece, well at least that's a relief", Queen commented. "I'm surprised Mathuma didn't already kill him, guess he has a bigger heart than we gave him credit for", David responded.

"Looks like they are preparing for the second round of their bout", Cassie pointed out.

Daniel didn't take notice of his pack, solely focusing on Mathuma but was a tad slow as the massive monster pinned him to the ground and growled at him with saliva dripping from its mouth somehow Daniel found himself in a trance reliving a past memory of sorts, As he stood within his mind remembering days past when his family was actually one of the greatest things in his life, he remembered how proud his father used to look to him as his crowning achievement in life but that all changed the minute his father became a big shot entrepreneur, sure life wasn't poor they no longer had to look over there shoulders but he could sense the change in his father even as a young boy, verbal abuse to his mother and how if he wasn't getting perfect grades and upholding the standard that it was meaningless.

Finally coming out of the memory Daniel realized the situation he was in and while Mathuma growled he had enough and smashed his fists into the wolf's ears causing tremendous pain before throwing him off. At this, the two stared each other down and Daniel seeing the glow of the moon come through felt its effects and charged straight at Mathuma!

"Is he insane, does he really think a one-and-one physical clash versus a crazed epsilon is in his favor?!" Jarett asked, shocked. The pack could only watch on in mock horror as the two collided with the thunderous echo of bone and flesh. Daniel was forced back in obvious pain but surprisingly so was Mathuma who was stunned, now Daniel was on the attack hitting jabs, and pressure point hitting and while Mathuma got a good few hits in from his wild thrashing, Daniel's precise hitting wore out the epsilon before a beautiful combo of a high leg kick and an uppercut brought the beast to the ground as Daniel pounced and began ripping and tearing apart his flesh. The pack was utterly stunned, a beta barely out of his diapers winning a fight that only a day or two ago he lost convincingly. Just before Daniel brought down the final strike he hesitated seeing the Epsilon at his mercy triggered another memory but it wasn't his own it was a young boy and his mother who seemed happy but abruptly the memory disappeared as Daniel got off the Epsilon who then crawled it's way back deep into the woods disappearing from view.

"What, the hell was that?" Daniel wondered to himself.

"Tactile Memory Manipulation", a familiar voice sounded revealing itself to be Chief Romero. "A very rare but useful ability amongst werewolves to interact with memories that were long thought to have gone".

"What does that have to do with what I saw from Mathuma?" Daniel asked.

"I presume you went into his mind seeing his mother", Chief Romero countered.Daniel nodded with the Chief expounding that Mathuma was like any upcoming born werewolf, however, tragedy struck when he lost control on the night of a supermoon long ago, he went on a rampage only stopping after he killed his poor mother since then he turned into an Epsilon he remembers that day fondly and is used as a warning to any and all young werewolves of not what to become.Daniel was surprised at this information and while he didn't distrust Chief Romero, something of his tone told him that there might be something more to the story. His pack was now approaching and closeby to hearing Romero's next words
