Chapter 25 All Wars Aren't Fought On The Battlefield

Adam, Toni, Emily, and her sister stood motionless before the Phoenix Coven leader who merely smiled noticing the awkward silence.

"I promise I shall be on my best behavior I only wish to chat", he stated with open arms removing his white hat.

Adam looked at him and got a good look at his features, his left eye was badly damaged showing a full white on the left while the other was a natural brownish hue. He had no hair but his simple demeanor was not to be taken lightly.

Adam approached with, Toni and the other girls followed closely. He saw the man looking around and produced a hand wave of sorts.

"Hmm, I could have sworn there were two others" he responded.

They looked between themselves not saying a word. He merely shrugged.

"You two must be Agnes granddaughters, I see the Eternal Garden Coven is still at work" he responded. "But where are my manners, allow me to introduce myself. " I am Papa Matobe the leader and father of the Phoenix Fire Coven"

As he continued Adam couldn't help but be concerned with his followers, he knew better than most when people wanted to be rid of a problem.

"You've overstayed your welcome, these people want nothing to do with you", Emily's sister spoke.

"You dare speak without permission insolent little wench", one of the women spoke.

The two readied a blast of energy to fight but Adam stopped the fight with a mighty roar stunning all.

"Explain your proposal otherwise get off our lawn" Adam stated.

Matobe seeing that this was not ideal merely wanted to help the young supernaturals and wanted a peaceful living with them nothing more.

"Whatever Agnes has painted of me I won't lie, I dabble in the dark arts of witchcraft however I am a man of my word and I only ever attack unless antagonized" Motube spoke. "I hope we meet again".

With the group leaving, Adam sighed looking between Emily and her sister, and shook his head before sitting on the lawn.

"He's not lying however he's dangerous, we need to be on guard against that man" Toni stated.

"He knows we don't believe him and that plays into his coy persona", Adam commented. "This is going to get ugly real quick".

Meanwhile

Kyle, Chloe, and Mei hid themselves among the trees with Chloe's pyromancer abilities masking Mei.
The plan while not exactly the definition of full proof was the only thing DeMarcus would agree to causing Mei to wonder what kind of hold Ellie had on him after all to the girls she kept her heart and love close to ear.

Kyle however saw it a bit differently, while he was still learning to accept Koda and Demarcus had turned over a new leaf so quickly, the guilt of the past ate away at their souls. This was likely their way of making it up to him for all those years.

"They're almost at the camp entrance, remind me again why they are walking through the front," Andrea asked confused.

"Rogue wolves don't deny a chance to humiliate anyone, especially seeing as Demarcus ain't a wolf it will play into Zega's ego", Kyle explained. 

"Is it wise to use them as bait though?" Chloe questioned. "Even if they are willing it seems unethical". 

"Right now all we need to worry about is they preoccupy the Rogues long enough for Andrew to get the jump on them", Kyle stated.
