It took an hour or so, the clock struck 1 am by the time Kyle finished explaining the events that led to him becoming a Hellhound, his meeting with the three ghost guards, his battle against Dareus Lukemaer, and finally the danger the entire town is in because of Dr Chang's machinations.
"Wow, that is a lot", Jason commented.
"Jesus...." was all Abuenazzer could muster.
"With these reactions, you'd think they were the ones whose life is constantly in danger", Malakai commented dryly.
"Now is not the time Kai, this shit is serious", Kyle commented with a serious expression. "The Supermoon is days away, and we still have no idea who the Alpha Wendigo is, no face to match, yet he's had a jolly time blindsiding me and sending his minions to do his bidding".
"Not to mention the Baron, the Rogue Wolves all want you gone for various reasons", Eve noted.
Kyle focuses on the current information and tells the others to be cautious as anything can be out to get them, given that Alcatraz is still breathing no doubt he'll be back with reinforcements to finish what they started.
"Zar, I want you to keep tabs on Carlton Hinds, he's not showing any indication that he's the one but something about his sudden appearance makes my stomach churn", Kyle stated.
Abuenazzer agreed to do some sleuthing along with the ghost guard who nodded in agreeance, while the others kept their wits about them.
Bishop Creek Police Station
Sheriff Hellewell was truly stressed and was glad for the reprieve if even for a moment, this town was like one disaster after another. Property damage, people complaining and filing missing people's reports, and then the worst part was finding bodies that were decapitated, some weren't even intact. These bodies could only be identified by the few items the people had on them and DNA samples.
A knock on his door revealed that his deputy, Michael Taine, was calling for him, saying that someone had come to see a man overlooking the place, his suit and jacket marked with FBI could spell only one thing.
"Sheriff Hellewell, I am special agent Peter Sutherland", the man informed them. "How about we chat in your office?"
The two men entered the office and what felt like minutes seemed like an hour had passed, Sheriff Hellewell was tense, if the FBI was getting involved it would mean his job and the security of the people in Bishop Creek could not be trusted by him and his deputies.
Sutherland by the looks of it didn't seem any older than 25, but the hardened expression on his face told Hellwell he wasn't dealing with an average run-of-the-mill agent.
After a few more looks at the documents in his hand, Sutherland put them down and finally looked at the Sheriff.
"Listen, I understand you're under immense pressure and I'm not here to make it any worse despite the circumstances here Kelster," Sutherland stated. "But know this, despite the claims of my superiors I think you're a great sheriff and a terrific person, but even you can't beat around this many deaths in a couple of months."
Sutherland indicated for him to take a look at several photographs that had been taken in the last several months including several of the horrible snowstorm plaguing Canada. Hellewell would never admit it but he vaguely could make out a large behemoth with antlers but kept it to himself.
"We're doing the best we can here but this is strange, and I don't mean as if it's just one-off incidents," Hellewell stated. "It just seems as if I'm missing something."
"Then I suppose I should ask you something," Sutherland started as he drew his chair closer. "Do you believe in superstition, things outside the realm of possibility?"
