Chapter 22 Arrival of Coven's

January 1st New Year's Day was nothing like previous for the Whittier family household. Kyle was actually happy along with his two best friends and his mother enjoying the day with the Knight family. Things seemed calm and for once normal, well as normal as it could be for a bunch of supernatural teenagers.

Kyle knew they would have to come clean about their true nature eventually but right now that would be hard and he couldn't bear to be the one to wipe the bright smile from her face, especially with how happy she had seemed with Abuenazzer.

Kyle was pleasantly surprised how his own relationship had progressed, despite the short time of them making it official he and Chloe seemed like they had been with each other for a long time such was their chemistry and natural communication. If that wasn't enough Chloe had joined them for the New Year's Celebration where she and Kyle shared a New Year's Kiss a first for the two which was watched by Toni and Adam.

January 2nd

One day after New Year's most of the house chores were all but completed and Kyle was for once surprisingly alone and found himself on the phone with Chloe, the two had been having these phone calls more frequently but with the house empty and nothing much doing he decided to call his girlfriend who seemed just as ecstatic with him calling.

They chatted for a few minutes before the topic shifted to her siblings who were due to be in town once again her older sister Clara would be returning from her business trip as she was an agency model booker, while her elder brother Grayson had been in England doing work in finance.

"You sound concerned when speaking of your brother, is he going to pose problems with us?" Kyle asked.

"Yes, he will but it's my decision to date you and I'm not going to let him bully me", Chloe stated adamantly.

"Judging from the way you speak I assume it's the natural big brother hardass of how I won't be good enough for his baby sister, he's pyromancer so what's his deal?", Kyle asked sensing there was more to this than she was letting on.

He heard her sigh before explaining that both Clara and Grayson were council members, but Grayson was found to be overly aggressive against certain members, especially Hellhounds.

This surprised Kyle but was taken back when Chloe told him of a huge fight between Grayson and Sam Kyle didn't have to guess how that fight went and Grayson was banished from the Council.

"In any case, let me just smooth things over with him just to make sure he doesn't try anything", Chloe told him.

"Hate to break it to you pretzel cake, but if he wants a fight, you know I'm not going to back down, I don't want to be looking like an instigator, but I will defend myself if it comes down to it", Kyle told her.

Chloe sighed but Kyle assured her for the sake of peace he wouldn't go looking for trouble, with that the two bid goodbye to each other as Chloe wanted to check on Mei and Ellie and ended the call.

Kyle plopped down on his bed and noticed just how empty the house was as Zargan, Eve and Malakai were overseas currently, soon enough his phone rang, and answering and hearing the voice his eyes widened.

"I'll be there shortly", he stated.

Sam's Warehouse

It was a quiet ride for Kyle on his motorcycle, he had so many questions but knew that wasn't what was important. He had severely missed the quiet presence of the trio of Hellhounds who while secretive were family, not to mention Kendall.

Parking the motorbike he saw the silhouettes of everyone and saw none other than his two Chimera friends waiting at the front for him. Exchanging fist bumps the three made their way upstairs and before they could knock on the door they were greeted by Alexis who hugged Foga tightly causing a raised eyebrow from Kyle
