CHAPTER 37

My grip on the sink tightened as I continued to vomit. Kakatapos ko lang kumain at narito ako sa banyo, sinusuka lahat ng kinain.

I stared at the ring on my hand and started crying. I don't know what's happening. My throat hurts as I continued to suffer, early in the morning.

Naghilamos ako ng napansing gumagaan na aking pakiramdam. I looked at myself on the mirror at nakita ang aking sarili na medyo maputla at pagod.

Lumabas ako sa banyo at umupo sa may vanity mirror. I pinched my cheeks as I thought of what happened earlier.

Will I tell Felix about this? But then he would get concerned then he would not let me out of the room for 'health purposes'! Maybe I'll just see a physician this afternoon or tomorrow.

Nilagyan ko ng pampapula ang labi ko at marahang tinampal ang pisngi para magkaroon iyon ng kulay.

Lumabas ako sa kwarto namin at tumungo sa hagdanan. Nang pababa na ako ay nakita ko si Felix na nagbabasa ng sulat, kaya dali-dali akong lumapit sa kaniya.

"What's that?" tanong ko nang mapansin ang ekspresyon niya.

He looks like he's trying to figure out something and he didn't  even answer me.

Kaya lumapit nalang ako sa kaniya at binasa ang nakasulat sa papel.

Kumunot ang noo ko at bahagyang napaatras. Gusto ng hari na pa imbestigahan ang bayan sa silangan dahil dumadami na ang krimen doon, lalo na sa pagnanakaw ng ari-arian.

"Don't worry I won't go," he assured.

I crossed my arms and stared at him blankly.

"Come here," he smiled then hugged me.

I sighed and hugged him back.

"You know, you can go. I'll be fine," I said and patted his back.

Kinalas niya ang pagkayakap sa akin at nilagay ang sulat sa kaniyang bulsa.

"I'll send General Mak in my place," matigas na tonong sabi niya.

Umiling ako.

"Listen Felix, it says there 'your presence is greatly needed' that means they really need you there. You can't risk this, it may harm the kingdom," paliwanag ko.

Although I don't want him to be away, I still don't want to be selfish. There are still people who needed his protection.

He glared at me, giving me a warning.

"I just told you yesterday Venna. I don't want to go to a place that there's—"

" I know.... alam ko. Pero ilang araw lang naman. Five days, you'll be away with me. It's not like you won't see me again!" putol ko sa sinabi niya.

Magkikita rin naman kami ulit!

We're engaged now and soon we'll get married so dapat wala na siyang  alalahanin.

I caressed his hand and looked at him.

"I won't leave you and you'll come back to me,"

He sighed and kissed my forehead. In the end he decided to go to the West.

Ngayon ay abala siya sa paglalagay ng kaniyang mga gamit sa karwahe. Nakabusangot ang kaniyang mukha at parang ayaw niya talagang umalis.

Si General Mak din ay inaayos na ang iba nilang sasakyan at mga armas. Sasama ata siya.

I wonder if General is still mad at me.

I smiled as I walk towards Felix. Kumunot naman ang mukha niya.
