CHAPTER 20

I don't know how many days or months have passed. I stayed in my dark and cold room for almost everyday here in Monalian.

I feel empty and lonely. I would just ask them to deliver my food in my room.

Wala akong ganang lumabas. Parang ang bigat ng katawan ko, kahit wala naman akong sakit.

I want to go back in his arms again. I miss his forehead kisses. I miss him so much! I miss everything about him!

I heard a loud banging at my door. I looked at it boredly.

"Lavenna!" sigaw niya.

Kinumutan ko nalang ang sarili ko at bumalik sa paghiga. I don't want to talk to him right now.

"Lumabas ka rin! Kahit pa minsan-minsan man lang!" sigaw pa nito.

Pero agad ding tumahimik. I sighed. He's really annoying!

Then I heard a loud thud kaya napabalikwas ako ng bangon. What the h*ll?

"What the f*ck's wrong with you!" sigaw ko habang tinitigan siyang pinapagpag ang damit niya pagkatapos niya sirain ang pintuan ko!

"You won't come out," he shrugged it like it was a valuable reason to break my door!

"Here, have this," sabi niya tsaka binigay ang pares ng skating shoes sa akin.

Lito kong tinignan iyon.

"We'll skate, para naman lalabas ka ng kwarto mo,"

Tinapon ko iyon pabalik sa kaniya.

"No, I won't go skate with you! All you do is fl*rt with girls!"

He picked up the skate shoes at umupo sa kama, malapit lang sa akin.

"Why do you care about me now!" sigaw ko at naiiyak na.

I'm being emotional. All these years, ngayun lang siya ganito.

"Baby, I always care for you," he said then hushed me.

He wiped my tears with his thumb.

"Come on. Samahan mo kuya mo! I promise I won't fl*rt with girls," he smiled.

I sighed and went to my cabinet to change my outfit. Just for once!

Nang paalis na kami ay tinuro ko ang pinto.

"What about my broken door?" pagtataray ko sa kaniya.

"I'll ask them to fix it,"

Nang pababa na kami nakita ko si Papa na gulat nang makita ako.

"Where are you taking her Duane?" he asked.

"Just skating," sabi niya at pinakita ang skating shoes niya.

Tumango lang ito. I don't know but I kinda saw that he's relieved about it.

"He's been working his best for you Lav, he's tired," bulong ni Duane at nauna nang umalis.

I went to my father and hugged him. Maybe I'm being too harsh on him. He's more than a harsh king of the north.

Nang tinignan ko siya ay naluha pa ito.

"Good thing you decided to go out of your room, I'm really worried" nakangiting sabi nito.

"Well, Duane forced me,"

Tumawa siya at nagpaalam na rin.

Pumunta kami sa lake. Frozen iyon dahil sa lamig. At andami pang tao. Madami ring bumabati sa amin.

"Your highness! It's good to see you again,"

Ngumiti lang ako at sinuot na ang aking skate shoes.

"Prince Duane!"

Nakita ko ang dalawang babae na papunta kay Duane.

He's really famous with girls. Can't help, he's handsome.

"Oh hi!" bati niya pabalik.

Hmm. Let's see. You won't fl*rt huh?

"Skate with us!" sabi nung isa.

"It's been a long time since we hangout," pagmamakaawa nung kasama niya.

Tch!

"I can't, I'm with my sister,"

I smirked.

The girls made an 'Oh' and then waved at me. Nagpaalam na rin sila.

Inalalayan ako ni Duane papunta sa ice.

"Don't hold me, I can do it!" suway ko at binitawan niya naman ako.

Tinaas niya ang kaniyang dalawang kamay at tumawa.

"Alright! Alright! Ang sungit naman!"

I started gliding on the ice.

May nakakasalubong ako na bumabati but as usual I answered them with a smile.

I look at my blurry reflection on the ice as I glide through it.

I look so...... ugly! Well because my reflection is kinda messed up. I just look sad and empty that's all.

Bumuntong hininga ako. This is not me anymore.

"Hey!" sigaw ni Duane.

I rolled my eyes.

Tinaasan ko lang siya ng kilay.

"Let's do this,"

May pinapakita siyang steps at agad akong umiling.

No! I won't do that with him.

Umalis ako pero hinawakan niya ang dalawang kamay ko at sumayaw.

Pilit kong pumiglas pero ang lakas niya.

Tumatawa lang siya habang tinitignan akong pilit na kumawala.

Kalaunan ay sumabay nalang ako.

We glide on to the ice, dancing like what we did when we were just kids and not minding the cruelty of the world.

Just for once, I'm grateful that my brother's with me.

Pero nawala ang saya ko nang may naalala.

I remembered when me and Felix danced in the middle of the crowd.

My feet was hurting that time. Pero hindi ko sinabi sa kaniya! I want to dance with him. Hanggang sa matapos ang kanta.

But will I ever experience it with him again?
