"Come on, seriously?"
You grunted on the couch. It was past 11pm and your fiance Jean still wasn't home. You pushed yourself off the couch.
Walking to the door, you grabbed a jacket and shoved it on. Opening the door, you expected to be greeted with the usual chatter.
Instead, it was dead silent. You warily stepped out into the street. Locking the door, you shoved the keys into your pocket.
The night was cold enough to see your breath escape from your lips.
The streetlamps had been turned off, making it hard to see anything.
Your footsteps were all that resounded through the streets. You approached the Adventurers Guild stand in hopes to see Katheryn.
"What the hell..?" She wasn't there. Growing uneasy, you picked up the pace towards the Knights Headquarters.
You skipped up the stone steps. The large wooden door opened with a sickening creak. The lights were off inside aswell.
"Was there a power outage?" You mumbled, walking farther into the building.
Your hollow steps bounced off the walls as you approached Jean's office.
You gave a gentle knock on the door. No reply.
You tried twisting the knob only to find the room locked. You furrowed your brows.
"Jean? Are you in there? It's (Y/N)!" You knocked on the door again. This time, there was shuffling.
"No..! Don't open it-" You heard a hushed voice yell. You were going to say something, but the door creaked open.
"Klee?" There stood the Spark Knight. Her eyes were red and puffy. Once she saw it was really you, she sprung forward.
