"Mona!"

Your knuckles firmly knocked against the wood of you and Mona's front door. You had been away for awhile on a commission.

You came home quickly from grocery shopping for two reasons. One, you wanted to see her as quickly as possible.

And two, Goth had politely stopped you earlier when you were grocery shopping. He said Mona hasn't paid rent yet and wondered if you would go get it from her.

Goth didn't exactly know you and Mona lived together, so you had to hide your confusion when he said only Mona.

Not wanting to be rude and say no, you obliged. Though, you would pay him the rent later and say it was from Mona.

"Mona? Starlight?" You called for her again. There still wasn't an answer.

Growing worried, you decided to try the doorknob. Locked. Well, at least she was safe from burglars.

Sighing, you walked over to a small pot near the steps. You lifted it up and grabbed the key underneath.

Stepping back up to the door, you unlocked it trying not to spill the groceries in your arm. You silently cheered when you got the door open.

Using your foot to open it fully, you walked into the house. You furrowed your brows noticing none of the lights were on.

It looked like nobody was even living here, besides the astrology trinkets scattered everywhere.

You shut the door with the back of your heel and walked to the table. You set down the key and groceries.

"Mona! I'm home!" You yelled to the seemingly empty house. You looked to the rack beside the door.

Her hat and everything were still hung up so she couldn't have left.
Your hollow steps trailed down the hallway.

You noticed the bedroom door creaked open. A soft blue like seeping through.
You sadly smiled, knowing exactly what was causing it.

You peeked through the crack of the door. There on the floor sat Mona, looking through her scryglass.

She had one of your hoodies on, the hood covering half her face. One of your blankets was also draped across her shoulders.
