"(Y/N)?" Shinobu stood in front of you. You had been sitting on a bench outside of your highschool. You were on a stone bench, bushes and flowers bloomed all around. It was quite pretty.
"Sorry, what's up 'nobu?" You averted your eyes from the ground to her face. Her rosy cheeks and soft purple glare made your heart leap into your throat.
"You ran from me earlier.. you doing okay?"
The sadness in her voice made you want to comfort her. But you couldn't bring yourself to it, it'd just hurt you more.
"Yeah.. sorry, I wasn't feeling good." It wasn't exactly a lie.
"Really? Do you want me to take you to the nurse?" she bent down, wrapping her arms around her knees and looking up at you.
"No, I can make it to the end of the day."
"Okay good, I wouldn't be able to live without you in science." she tilted her head smiling.
You avoided the urge to cough. You can't let her see you like that, it'd worry her. You stood up, reaching out a hand to assist her up aswell. She took it instantly.
BRINGGG You and Shinobu instinctively jumped at the bell. It was 8th period. You sighed in relief, today was almost over.
"Cmon, don't let Mr.Albedo yell at us!" Shinobu still held onto your hand, jolting forward leading you both to the doors.
You held on tightly, who knows when you'll get to hold her hand next. Then that feeling emerged. You moved your other hand to your mouth. Swallow the cough down.
As you tried to hold it in, Shinobu finally reached the science classroom. With an enthusiastic movement, she slid open the door and let go of your hand. Making her way over to her friend Arataki Itto.
You smiled at her, she was happy around him.
COUGH You stood at the doorway, holding the frame tightly and covering your mouth. You couldn't stop the coughs escaping.
You could feel your lungs squeezing. It was getting too hard to breathe nowadays.
You felt a hand on your shoulder, breaking from your coughing fit. You glanced up to see your classmate, Yanfei.
"(Y/N), are you okay?" She worryingly asked. You simply nodded in response.
Smiling at her, she walked you to your shared desk. Yanfei was a good friend of yours, though you never talked outside of school.
Mr.Albedo walked into the classroom. He raised his hand to the blackboard at words he'd written down beforehand.
"Alright, today we're investigating the ways of chemicals." Mr.Albedo spoke. He went over instructions, explaining that today's activities requested goggles, coats, and masks.
You walked to the back of the classroom, grabbing one for you and Yanfei.
"Hey (Y/N)! Grab one for me and Itto too!" Shinobu called from her seat. You sighed, lungs squeezing. His name rang in your ears.
You grabbed the necessary amount and walked to Shinobus table, handing her the stuff.
"Thanks!" she smiled warmly.
"Yea-" COUGH You held your hand against your stomach, putting a hand over your mouth. Shinobu looked at you wide-eyed.
You put your hand into a fist. Covering the fact petals had just come from your throat. You raised the other hand not looking at Shinobu.
"S-Sorry, I gotta go." you traced to your table, handing Yanfei her stuff. You then hurried to Mr.Albedo as he gave you permission to use the restroom.
Yanfei watched you leave. Looking at the petal in her hand.

COUGH COUGH You clutched your chest, bending over the toilet. You watched as petals fell into the bowl. What am i doing.
You scolded yourself in your head. Surgery could easily get rid of this, but you couldn't. You didn't dare consider the thought of the consequences from doing so.
As you were coughing, you didn't hear the footsteps approaching the stall door. Rapid knocking made you freeze in place.
"(Y/N)! Please open up!" the voice was sweet.
"Yanfei..?" you couldn't hear the person's response as you started coughing again.
COUGH COUGH COUGH You choked on the petals, falling to the floor and curling into a ball. The banging became more loud and frantic. I can't breathe. You closed your eyes, fading into unconsciousness.

You cautiously opened your eyes. The Sunlight shined right into your eyes, forcing you to squint. Lifting a head to cover your eyes.
You looked around the room, it was white. You recognized it as the downtown hospital. Whoever was at the stall door must've brought you here..
You put a hand over your chest. I can breathe? Panic started to rise out of you. Did they perform surgery? What happened after you blacked out?
You sat up in a frenzy, shifting your hands around your body. After checking for any bandages you sighed. Thank god, no surgery was performed.
Wait, no surgery was performed.
CLASH You gave a frazzled expression staring to the doorway. Shinobu stood there, a vase of flowers on the floor. The same ones you had been...coughing up.
Shinobu's eyes began tearing up, sprinting towards you. She pulled you into a hug.
"What were you thinking!? You should have told me!" she cried into your shoulder.
"I-I.." You wide-eyed the girl burying against your chest. Why was she crying?
"I love you too! You're so stupid for keeping this from me!" Her tight grippened, making you wince.
"I thought you liked I-Itto-" You carefully said. Shinobu shot up from your body looking at you shocked.
"H-Him!? He's a friend you ass!" She was still crying but you could tell she meant every word. Smiling, you put a hand on her head.
She continued to cry as she wrapped her arms around you again. You both sat in silence for awhile.
"I love you 'nobu."
"I love you too."
