The doctor gave you a smile. He clicked the end of his pen and tucked it away in his coat pocket.

You only gave him a small nod. When he realized he wasn't getting anything more than that, he softly cleared his throat.

You looked away from him, letting your eyes trail to the window. After you got sent to the hospital, you'd just sit around.

There wasn't really much for you to do other than read the books provided by the nurses or stare out the window.

You could hear the birds chirping and the breeze passing through the trees.
Throughout all the deafening noises in the building, you could easily focus on only that.

You heard the doctor softly sigh, the chair he had been sitting on squeaked as he stood up.

"I know this isn't ideal, (Y/N). But there's only so much we can do for... your case."

As his sentence trailed off, your eyes flickered to your arms that rested across your lap. The patterns of the black scales burning into your mind.

That seemed to be all he had to say since the next noise that echoed were his footsteps. The sliding of the door soon followed.

"Oh! Sorry, ma'am." You heard the doctor apologize just before his footsteps continued to resound down the hall.

Your gaze still hadn't left your arms.
"Not even a glance up? That's quite rude, yknow." A feminine voice sighed.

Upon hearing her voice and the shut of the sliding door again, you whipped your head upward.

Standing a few feet away from the side of your bed was your childhood friend, Candace. Her long blue hair flowing at her sides.

You took notice of the arrangement she held in her hands. She held a clear round vase, blue flowers carefully placed inside it.
